Hello all you lovely fellow diamond enthusiasts. I have a pair of beautiful 1.5 cttw F VS2 ACA studs from whiteflash that I’ve worn for close to 7 years now but DSS has set in and I’m wanting to go larger. The question is how much larger is worth it. I would love to go to 2 cttw but in order to stay within reasonable budget I’d have to sacrifice on color A LOT. we’re talking F down to an I. So I came across a pair that’s not quite 2cttw they are .923 and .942 G VS 2. I’d have to trade in my current pair and it would cost me an additional 6k. Sooo is it worth it to a) go from .75 each to .94 each for 6k and b) go down from F TO G? Would it be noticeable ?.. All opinions and feedback highly appreciated. Giant hugs everyone xoxo.

I upgraded with Whiteflash a few times, and I will say that the thing I regret the most was making a really small upgrade once. I did go from .75 each (1.5ctw) to 1.15 each (2.3 ctw) and that was a decent upgrade. So I will tell you that I don't think it would be worth the very small difference in size to go from .75 to .92. I think it makes more sense to go over 1 ct, and I wouldn't hesitate to go with H color, because mine are H and they look like bright white fireballs on the ear. Worst case scenario is later upgrading color, but I personally stayed with H through all my upgrades. Just so you know, after the 1.15 I went to 1.3 which just wasn't enough visual difference to be worthwhile. So my very final upgrade was to 1.6 each (and I was looking for 1.5 but there weren't any available and the perfect 1.6 pair just became available). The cost of all those settings add up, so make your upgrades visually worthwhile!

Thank you so much for your feedback. That’s kind of what I was thinking especially since it would cost a good amount of money to go
that route. I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else. And I do Love the crispness and whiteness of my F’s. My engagement ring is an h so I don’t have a problem with going down to an H at all. And wow 1.6 each. I don’t think that would fit on my ears. Lol. I’d love to try though. Those must be beautiful. Thank you again.

Hi! I have .8cttw J color studs from white flash. I was worried about the color but they honestly face up so white. I’m not sure about larger sizes but from what I’ve seen from larger stud sizes here on PS, they seem to face up white in lower colors.

I had the same dilemma recently and decided to keep my white flash studs because I like the idea of having two size options and upgrading would of cost A LOT. My husband ordered me D color 1ct each lab grown studs from distinctive gem. I haven’t received them yet but I’m looking forward to seeing how they are. Not sure if you’re open to lab diamonds. In my case it felt like a win: I was able to keep my current studs and upgrade to a higher color and larger size ( though I wasn’t aiming for D color. It just happened to be available ). Good luck!

Oooh that’s exciting !!! Make sure to post pictures when you get them and share your reaction to them. I’ve never seen a lab grown diamond in real life. I’m leaning towards keeping my 1.5 cttw aca studs and the are spectacular. DSS is real I guess I’ll have to start playing the lottery lol.

Will do! They should be in next week I believe. They are waiting for the platinum martini setting to come in.

I’m a natural diamond girl what can I say it’s a “ mind clean “ thing for me. I mean I’m pretty open minded so that could definitely change in the future but for now I’d like to stay natural. The prices are very tempting though not gonna lie.
