e-pics, better late than never, eh?

With 9 weeks to go before the wedding, we have engagement pics! I''m not keen on the makeup, which I had professionally done as a trial. Our friend took them, so it''s not like I was looking for any framers, just a fun way to get FI and I used to the camera. We did have a really fun time, even though it was FREEZING at the beach that day!

I think your makeup job looks great too. Is it just more than you are used to wearing? It looks really good in photos, definitely not overdone.

My favorites are the kissing & shadow/outline shots. The beach background is too cool- totally California! I was going to ask you where they were taken, but then I saw a shot with the Redondo Beach pier in the background (i think i ID''d the El Torito sign).

Hmmm, would your friend be interested in more e-pic photo sessions? It would be a good way to prep my FI and I for pics on the big day!

I''m so glad to hear that you like our friend''s photography b/c he will be "supplementing" our paid photographer at the reception. He loves to do photojournalism so I''m excited.

Chargergrrl--tomorrow at brunch we can exchange personal info and I can give you his contact info. I''m sure he would be happy to do your e-pics. And yes, that''s the Redondo Pier in the background. We''re actually having our rehearsal dinner at that El Torito.

Dani--FI is 6''5". I''m 5''6" but look more like a child next to him!

What about your makeup don''t you like? To me, it doesn''t really look like you are wearing any!!! Are you expecting something more dramatic? You might want to go with a little more makeup for the big day!

I had a lot of makeup on (so much that up close I scared myself) but it came out really good in the pictures. Normal everyday makeup tends to look like you''re not wearing any when photographed!

What I didn''t like at the time was that it seemed like SO MUCH makeup but everyone is right, in the pictures it looks really natural. I also didn''t like how she did the eyeliner on the lower lid (I thought it closed my eye up rather than "opening" it up and making them look bigger). BUT she is really cool and said she''ll do as many complimentary trial runs as I want until she gets the look I want. (And she charges only $35, which I almost fell on the floor over. She''s probably doing the whole wedding party.)

I agree with everyone on the makeup. It looks very natural. I can barely tell you had makeup on! The pictures make it look more natural. I must remember that when I get my trial makeup done. I''ll have to get my lady to play it up a bit.

OMG your e-pics are some of te most GORGEOUS i''ve EVER seen!!!! The back drop is stunning, the subjects are stunningly photogenic, and the photographer captured the emotions betweent he two of you perfectly! I was trying to pic a favorite, but i loved them ALL!!! Iagree abou the makeup, you looked just naturally beautiful...if i had to gues, i would have thought you just brused on some gloss and a little mascara and came out naturally beautiful. You guys are gonna have to get prints of these all over your house...these pics are to beautiful to languish in cyberspace

Wow - those are AMAZING, GORGEOUS pics, and I agree with those who say your makeup looks really nice - very fresh and natural - you two are such a beautiful couple!

I think if you want your makeup artist to "open" your eyes more (which I can kind of see what you are talking about) maybe she needs to curl your top lashes and put more mascara on them, or even use fakes, which I know a lot of people do for pictures/weddings.

Can I just tell you how excited I am to get married once and for all! All the planning and preparing and I''m just READY NOW. I would have been happy with a 6-month engagement--this 13-month-long engagement is just killing me!

Ginger--you totally crack me up!!! We have so many pictures of friends and family around the house but not a single one of just "us". Now we got a whole ''slew of ''em to choose from. I kind of want to bring a collage of the beach pictures to our wedding in Slovenia, for 1) just to share our "stomping grounds" with them through pictures, and 2) compell them to come visit us!
