Hi ladies, I know I don''t post much here but I have a question perfectly suited to the diamond / bride forum.

My original Ering was white gold. It was turning yellow before our eyes so we decided to get the ring remade in platinum. (we did teh replating thing and it turned after only a few weeeks so we thought long and hard and decided we would prefer plat)

After 3 weeks of waiting -
It arrived today! ...

..............but, its not exactly like the original and we both prefer it the original way. So this means sending it off to be remade (another 3 weeks or so).

GRRRR! I was so excited and this is a big letdown. Its still beautiful, and if you''d never seen the original you wouldn''t notice. The new one is super low and I really don''t like the almost totally smooth look it has. The higher setting of the original showed off the diamond more.

My wedding band is supposed to be in on Friday, which is when I''m going back to give them back the E-ring to be remade again (I do want to wait and see how the band looks with the ering, even this not totally correct one)

So I want to wear my band while my Ering is being worked on.

Is there any kind of superstition about wearing your wedding ring before the wedding????

We both so muich prefer seeing a ring on my finger so we don''t see a problem with it (and the wedding is in Dec so I woudl be taking the ering to be polished before the wedding, so if the w-band gets scratched during the few weeks I''ll wear it I''ll get it polished too so they both look shiny and new for their close-ups)

Please let me know if I''m about to offend the ''wedding gods''!!

And anyone else with ring woes, join in my pity party!

~Rachel

PS - thanks so much for the advice and support, even for a lurker!

I don''t know how I''d feel about wearing my wedding band before the wedding...it''s not like you''re wearing it AS the actual wedding band, but as a placeholder for the ering...I think if it doesn''t bother you it is fine, but I jsut don''t know if I would do it. Haha, sorry, I can''t come up with a solid reason why, I think I would just feel weird.

But it stinks that you will probably have to wait another couple weeks for your ering (you know, unless you put the new ring with the band and fall in love!

). I''m having trouble picking a wedding band, and I have to wait a few more weeks to go out looking again, and it''s driving me crazy because I just want to make a decision already!

I agree with Sabine, I would feel weird wearing the band before the wedding. Heck, I even felt weird trying them on at the jewelry store when I was trying to decide which one I wanted! So maybe I''m just an odd duck

If it doesn''t bother you, go ahead (but realize that for those couple weeks, people who don''t know you will assume you''re already married!). If you don''t like the idea of wearing the wedding band, do you have any other ring you could wear as a "placeholder"? That way you could still see and feel a ring on your finger.
