I''m fairly new to PS but I just had to share my shopping experiences!
For a little background, SO and I have been together for 2.5 years and I started looking at rings pretty early on. We''d occasionally go to jewelers to window shop but a few months ago he tells me to start seriously searching for my e-ring. We are getting the stone from his family jeweler (his sister got her e-ring from his and it is stunning) but I wasn''t too crazy about his settings.
For a while I was pretty sure I''d end up with the this A. Jaffe setting that I saw early on in our relationship, but decided it wasn''t antiquey enough for me. So I kept looking. In December, I found this setting that was shear perfection. Pave down the sides with beading on the edges, pave on the bridge and hand engravings on the sides. But the more time that passed, the more vague it was in my mind. It''s made by a private jeweler that does not post pics online and I was not allowed to take any.
So forward to this weekend, we went to several jewelers and I found a few that were amazing...a Ritani and a two Tacori''s, but I could not get that ring out of my mind. So we ended up back at the private jewelers and I spotted it immediately out of tons of settings. Before I even put it on my finger, I knew that was it. And once I tried it on, it was like falling in love all over again
So the hunt is over!!! The rest is up to SO. We are going to visit his family jeweler (in Naples,Fl where he is from and his family still lives) the first weekend in November. He''s supposed to have some cushion cuts for me to look at (I''ll try to take some pics and report back
) So hopefully all goes well! And I''m thrilled I found my setting. Wish I could say the hard part is over, but waiting is much worse!
