Here''s my latest ebay find: a 3-sapphire platinum and diamond filigree deco ring. I can''t believe how well made this little ring is! Perfect little cut-outs and milgraining, all the edges neat and sharp. I expected the little diamonds to be single cuts, but they''re not--they''re full cut. If the jeweler who made this were still alive and working, I bet he''d be a hit with picky PSers.

Hand shot, with my .73 ct Infinity, which is in a (much less well made) setting from the same period:

And one more.

The sapphires are a little lighter in real life, not quite as navy. I wish I knew whether they were natural or synthetic. I could have it appraised, I guess, but that would cost more than the ring itself.

Many thanks for the kind words!

SanDiegoLady, I when I look with my loupe I don''t THINK I see any silk. They look very clear, just a couple of chips. But they''re tiny--the biggest one is less than 4 mm--and I don''t really know what I''m looking for.

I do know that man made sapphires are common in jewelry from this period. That doesn''t make these particular sapphires man made, of course. But they might be.

Oh wow, what an amazing antique piece!

Thank you!

I agree with Glitterata, I would love to see all of your pieces. You have such unique and lovely finds. This new beauty is just outstanding!

Thank you!

There isn''t a single thread that shows all my pieces. I wish I could add new pieces to old threads, but the old ones are closed now. Here are several threads that have some of my jewels, though:

my three diamond rings

my weird antique pear

a few of my favorite Victorian pieces

another somewhat random selection of favorites

victorian sapphire cab ring with rose-cut halo

edwardian demantoid ring

18th century sentimental ring from darling husband

black opal ring

grandma''s hilarious victorian necklace

my Cut by Infinity ring

my latest victorian pendant

my avatar cameo

Whew! That''s most of the threads, anyway. I obviously spend waaaay too much time and money on this hobby! It''s all Grandma''s fault. She started it.

So pretty!

Fun stuff! What a great find!

P.S. If you ask Admin, I bet they''d open up your old threads so you can add to them.
