Hi Everyone,

My ebay impulse buy from ebay arrived this afternoon. Is a 0.8ct OEC solitaire with 4 side stones (.12ct) in 14k white gold. I was really nervous as this was my first ebay purchase but i am pleased to say it has worked out pretty well. It wasnt an expensive one but is very pretty.

It is a warm stone - was told the stone was J-K but i think it is definately more of a K or even L. It faces up pretty white in most lights but i can see the warmth occasionally. I am usually a fan of the icy white flashes of an F colour and have never gone below a well cut I before, but this stone just has so much charisma, fire and brilliance that i am really loving the warmer tones in this ring! It just really seems to suit the style and era of teh ring. It is absolutely beautiful and have fallen completely in love with it.

Here are a few pics of it. Off to look at it sparkling again!

Pretty! I''d love if you could get a closer photo of the facet pattern.

That''s really pretty Reenie! Are you going to wear it as an engagement ring?

Purty! I agree, we need some close up face shots of that baby!

I LOVE that! I agree that the warmth of the stone works so nicely with the setting!

Very nice find! One day I''m gonna find my an OMC or an OEC...I just love that old look!

What a find! Wear it in good health!

Beautiful! I need to scour ebay more often...

Beautiful! The prongs remind me of the one I just got from ebay. That type of setting is circa 1930-1940, right?

So pretty! I love the five-stone-type setting

I just loooovvveee this ring! To me nothing beats the old style settings, they just seem to enhance the stones so much! I can''t wait to see close up shots of the stone so we can see it''s pretty fire and brillance!

So pretty! I concur on the- any chance of closer photos?

Hi everyone,

As requested have tried to take some close up shots of the diamond face up but my photography skills are really limited and i couldnt quite get the facets clear enough. Some of the shots also make the diamond look like it has black inclusions - i can assure you this is reflection only as it is an exceptionally clean stone even under the loupe.

Going to take it to be valued as am dying to know the exact colour of the stone.

Enjoy!

THank you. I am actually going to wear it as a right hand ring as i have a lovely square mod brilliant (admittedly it is getting repaired as the setting broke) so am kind of rotating all of my other rings until i get it back. I did wear it as my engagement ring today as it was so sunny in London and i wanted to enjoy the sparkles.

Hi,

You must post a picture of your ring - i would love to see it. I do believe it is around 1930s but am going to get it valued to know for sure.

Thanks for looking.

To my (untrained) eye it looks like it might be a transitional rather than an OEC? (my OEC turned out to be transitional and the top has the same look to it)

Oh man - I love fishtail prongs SO much...... such a classic setting........ lovely.......
