Edwina’s weekend jeans

I’d bought a ring setting a few months back, but the risk of stone chipping was always on my mind - which meant that I never wore her. But I’m nowhere near able to commission a solution yet. So rather than get into debt or worse, to wait for extra cash to give Edwina a fancy permanent setting that would be worthy of her, I took a shortcut and bought her the equivalent of a pair of weekend jeans (casual, comfortable, and cheap) so that I can wear her every day for 2019. The 14kt chain and rabbit-ear setting were a grand total of $56 and I set her myself. Just having her near my heart is so much better than sitting in a GIA envelope! I figure by the end of 2019 she can have a real grown-up fancy dress.

Nah, not nervous about setting Edwina... but I was careful while unsetting the cz that came in the setting. It’s a gorgeous cut sparkler, and I’ll use it to fill something else so I didn’t want to scratch it. I always find unsetting harder than setting!
