I am trying to gather opinions regarding the credibility and reliability of EGL Hong Kong certifications as compared to EGL US.

Looking at a 4.0ct I SI2. Should I assume it's at least 2 grades down compared to GIA ?

Look at their website. Do they look credible in comparison with GIA's? Is there any information on how they grade the cut? Any article? Any past/active research on anything ?

Most of the experts here will have no experience with EGL Hong Kong.

For my money....and based on long experiences.....I would not accept the grades of any of the EGL labs. To make it worse, there's simply no reliable calibration of exactly how far off they might be....
