If you eloped and had a photographer, did you tip? We''re having our ceremony at a state park in the woods. Our best friend is our officiant, the witnesses are the trees, flowers and animals. Nevertheless, I would really regret not having some pics of our day so I found a guy on Craigslist who is a semi-pro, trying to build his portfolio. We agreed on $100 for him to travel to us, lug his equipment out into the wilderness, edit/enhance the photos and give us a CD.
Would you tip? How much? After you saw the photos with editing? I''m such a goob when it comes to this stuff.

Hi annadragon,

Have you seen any photos that he''s taken already? Just curious what his level of experience is. $100 is really really very little in comparison to what you''d pay a professional experienced photographer, so I would definitely pay him extra on the day of the ceremony, so that he knows that you value his being there.

I know that the benefit of the deal for him is that he gets to build his portfolio, but he is also performing a service, so I think paying him extra would do a lot to help him feel valued and perhaps give him an incentive to perform better editing services, etc.

I really don''t know what would be a fair amount to tip. At least another $100, but maybe $250?

BTW, your elopement sounds perfect to me!! We had thoughts of doing something similar, but ultimately we decided to go away and elope in Europe.

Changing topic, but do you have your dress already? I''d love to see it.

I was wondering about your dress, because I think this dress would be perfect for the occasion!!

Zelda dress

I saw this dress in a catalog and had to post it on here in some way or another. It is just so sweet!

(Erh, and sorry for giving unsolicited wedding dress advice. I just love this dress so much, that I thought I'd share.)
