Emerald cut advice

I've been spending weeks on researching emerald cuts. I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of learning enough to feeling Confident as to what would be considered fair market value. I'm looking for feedback on this diamond and certificate. Asking price $9,850

Hi. I’ve been where you are and eventually went with a LG emerald cut from Jann Paul. They have extreme quality control so I know the diamond will be excellent (when I get it!). EC’s and fancy cuts are difficult to discern from looking at photos/videos (though videos are helpful). Some people use a concierge service, with a respected vendor, to help find a diamond.
I am not an expert, but you could start by posting a video and also ask the vendor/jeweler for an ASET scope. This will help the experts on here evaluate your diamond. At first glance, with my inexperienced eye, the center seems to have a lot of dark areas and something seems off with symmetry, but it could just be the angle of the photo. With EC’s they are different than round diamonds as the facets are elongated, basically like a hall of mirrors. They will have dark flashes, but you want them to be very quick, as you move the diamond side to side.
