Wow, I just saw this! I haven''t been on for a while after I made my decision to postpone my wedding. Yes, we are still engaged and, yes, I am still as busy as ever with FT work, 1/2 time school, just got a new puppy , and things are going well. I am SO glad we are taking more time. I just need it, end of story. Sometimes I just wonder about the way we do marriage....I have difficulty with so much importance being placed on marriage/the legal contract/the wedding when it is not that, in my mind, but the hard work, day after day, the on-going communication that keeps people together. I am focusing on that instead of wedding details, which I found to be completely distracting. I learned a lot about myself. I am not a big wedding person. Whenever and whereever I do it in the future it will be simple and quiet. Yay!!

Big weddings are not for everyone, and I''m glad you were able to see that was truly not what you wanted. You and FI''s wedding is about joining you two as husband and wife, and it would be such a shame to have to do it in a way you guys didn''t want to just because it''s the typical way to do things in society. I ''m so happy you are able to have your marriage and wedding celebrated the way you and FI want it celebrated, and not dictated by societal norms.
