I HAVE IT BACK! I HAVE MY RING BACK. I have the man too, but that's an of course.

I didn't manage to post too many handshots the last time, but he asked tonight (very quietly, very perfectly for me), and now I have some photos.

the green sapphire darkens significantly (and seems to take on bluer tones) iin bright white light - but in the dim light of the restaurant it is a twinkly darker green, and in warm incandescent at home it is proper green. I know it's a muted colour that not many people are looking for on PS, but it is perfect for me - I like color without too much showiness, and the light blinking off those facets (and my single cut halo) are all the flash I need (as opposed to the sort you get with saturated stones). I hope you like the photos, and thanks all of you for the help with it!

8mm green sapphire
unplated 18k wg
single cut halo (no specs, but perhaps about 1.5mm or slightly less)
5.5 finger

bright fluorescent light first:

Congrats! You have gorgeous hands and that's a beautiful ring!

What an amazing ring!!! A very special stone and beautiful on your hand. Amazing ring!!!

Congrats with your engagement.

Very beautiful, congrats!

Congratulations! You should be a hand model for the Preloved Section.

OH. MY. GOODNESS. That ring is TDF, many congrats on your engagement too!!! A green sapphire?!?! GORGEOUS. :appl: :appl:

Congratulations! Was it good to set eyes on it again, after having had it put away for a bit?

Beautiful ring! It worked out so great & it's just terrific you have a ring you love so much! Happy happy times ahead.

Congrats on the engagement and beautiful ring. I think many of us followed your setting quest and it's great to see everything come to fruition.

I really like the sapphire and I'm sure it's even prettier IRL. Those kinds of colors are a bear to photograph! The setting is gorgeous, too! Congratulations!

I couldn't sleep  so I got up with the sun and took a couple of shots outside!

can you tell that I love it? these photos are the most representative as compared to what I see IRL, but even then there are flashes of light and colour coming off those facets that I just stop staring at.. but cannot photograph.

I just realised those photos are darker than they appeared on my camera - so much for being anxious and not checking! so here's a slightly brightened one to do justice to the ring!

Congratulations! What a mesmerizing ring!

thank you all for your kind words! and for all the help that you gave in making this - it took me a while to get here (though the transition it went through at the jeweler's was more harrowing than the design), but it's so me, and I cannot take my eyes off it.

it was MORE THAN. I had started to forget what it looked like on my hand - though I had so many shots of the ring.. and I kept staring at it all night. the soon-to-be mister said I was waiting more for the ring than for him. which isn't true, but I happened to be sitting in a bit of the restaurant when the light fell down directly to me (the rest of the place was dark) so of course I had to look right?

thank you velouriaL! it is difficult - and it's so muted and while I'm not sure I would consider it moody, it changes in all sorts of lighting.. now I get why you guys photograph your rings everywhere!!

It's absolutely gorgeous!! I love the contrast of the green sapphire with the melee, such a beautiful look on your hand (which I'm a bit jealous of btw!) Congrats and enjoy your amazing ering!

Yes, exactly my thoughts!!!
Would you mind sharing with us, where did you source this amazing stone from? The color is amazing but i also love the cut of it!
Also, please post photos of the profile of the ring!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: GORGEOUS!!!

you guys are so sweet! and so kind to indulge me when all I need is the slightest encouragement for a photoshoot :naughty: here are some profile shots! it's got an open basket, with the bottom of the stone exposed (I'll try to get better pictures later on).

and I haven't said this, I think, but it's a RH ER because I don't want to wear it on the same hand as my watch (I must not be the only one like this).

natylad, thank you very much :wavey: I'm so glad you love it too! the stone is from jeffrey davies, and it's beautiful. it's got the big step cuts of an asscher, which I thought I wanted at first, but the shape of a cushion (the outline of which I love)!
