Take me off the list, ladies!
He proposed Saturday night on our winery trip (as I expected). We arrived at Belhurst Castle (www.belhurst.edu) to have dinner with our group (we were there with four other couples). The one dining area was full and some people in our party were suggesting we go somewhere else. My FI got nervous that we were not going to stay there for dinner, so he pulled aside a friend and told her we needed some time alone. He led me up two staircases to the top hallway of the castle.
In between giving me little kisses, he said some sweet things about how much he loves me and how amazing the past five years have been. He said he really wishes his grandfather (passed away before we met and whom FI was very close to) could have met me, he would have loved me, and would approve of what he''s about to ask me. He pulled the ring box out of his pocket, dropped to his knee , fumbled very nervously getting the ring out of the box, and he started to choke up and cry. With tears in his eyes he managed to get out those four little words! I, of course, started to cry as well and said YES!
I''m exhausted from the trip and all the excitement, but I''m over the moon happy and can''t stop looking at my ring!
Pics to follow!
