I copied a template and used that, but I read it and asked FI if he would mind putting his company down and what he does for a living. He said he didn''t really want his profession down because he''s only an assistant plumber, not an actual one, he made a career change 10 months ago from a very experienced and respected collision repair A-technician Of 11 years. He''s very sensitive about not being adequent and just broke down when I read it back to him. I felt so bad, I said who needs to impress anyway, what''s important what we do for a living or that WE''RE GETTING MARRIED?! My mom wants to put a photo in the paper and she asked me to word it to go in the paper, after this incident I''m lost as to the way I can word it....

does the newspaper have a template or form to fill out? ours did. we filled out the blanks and the put it in paragraph form. whatever we didn''t want published we left blank, such as our career info.

He doesn''t want to be embarassed at what he does for a living. He wants to be proud, but he''s not, it''s been a tough change on him and I don''t want to push it.

I am going to graduate from school in Dec, so I really can''t even say I graduated from such and such. I don''t have a career, I work in child care. I just kinda fluffed it up and wrote educational field, but assistant plumber? I don''t know how to fluff that up with, I don''t even really want to say I went to this university and work here, what is left to say then really?

Stephanie blah blah daughther of Mr. and Mrs. blah blah plans to marry Michael blah blah son of mr. and mrs. blah blah of East Bumble, NJ
A September 2008 wedding is being planned, they plan to reside in Mustang Town, NJ lol

In the UK announcements read:

Mr & Mrs xxx , name of town, are delighted to announce the engagement of the daughter xxx (no surname) to Mr xxxx (with surname), son of Mr and Mrs XXX of name of town on date of engagement.

End.

Would this be any good? I have never seen any where the people''s professions are mentioned.

My mother wanted to put mine in the Times and the Telegraph, but I wouldn''t let her - it''s a nightmare here, you get inundated with weddings vendors! I also knew that the local London papers would cover it anyway because of my job so I sent her those for a keepsake.

I wouldn''t "fluff" anything in regards to the announcement. I would simply state:

Mr. and Mrs. MustangFan of whatevercityandstate are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter MustangFan to Mr. MustangFan son of Mr. and Mrs. Mustang fan of whatevercityandstate. Nuptuals will take place on whateverdate atwhateverplace. The couple plans to honeymoon in whateverplace and will continue to reside in whatevercityandstate.

we put our names, and where we're from, parent's names & grandparent's names, including those deceased & city, state where live/from. we put where we went to highschool & college including town & state. we left out our career, but put what we majored in. we put where the ceremony & reception would take place & where we were going on our honeymoon, as well as where we'd reside post wedding.

we live in a smaller city, where all of this is the norm. i'd check out a few papers online. they usually post the engagement & wedding announcements. check what's written in your area for more ideas.
