Hi PSers!
Okay, I am coming out of lurker mode to share some photos of my new sparkly. This is coming with a major dose of embarrassment as:
- I had my beloved original e-ring diamond reset back in the fall.
- I sized it up a bit in an effort to avoid "finger muffin top."
- After enjoying my reset ring for several months, it fell off my finger somewhere between my house and the gym.
- The epic search was unsuccessful.
- The ring was not insured.
- I cried a lot.
A couple of weeks ago, my wonderful husband gave the okay for a replacement purchase. My original diamond was a .51 D SI2 that was not only purchased pre-PS but also pre-Internet. Armed with my PS knowledge and a self-imposed budget of $2k, I embarked on a search with the hope of bumping up in size a bit. My sweet spot was G/H, around .75, ideal cut, SI1/SI2 with medium or strong blue flour.
My new ring arrived yesterday and I am still in awe. Here are the specs:
WF Expert Selection
RB .74 H SI1
GIA EX/EX/EX
Medium blue flour
Setting is a simple low-set, four-prong from Stuller in x1 WG. Size 6.75. The diamond is absolutely stunning. Thanks to the education I have received here at PS, I knew what to look for and where to compromise. Going from a who-knows-what D to a well cut H allowed for me to get the size bump. And this H is white hot and sparkly.
Not to worry, this one is most definitely insured. And I would like to thank the entire team at Whiteflash for providing yet another wonderful buying experience. They handled the reset for me back in September and I am now a very happy repeat customer.
Also, I have now come to accept that my knuckle is actually smaller than the ring part of my finger. Therefore, in order to keep a ring from falling off, there needs to be some finger muffin top. But that''s a topic for another thread. LOL!
Enjoy...
