For the past few months I''ve been sort of out of it when it comes to wedding planning. When my grandfather passed away in August it sort of took the wind out of my sails when it comes to wedding stuff. This afternoon I looked at my calendar and realized that I only had FOUR months to go so I''d better get my butt in gear.
Location: DONE! Xpu-Ha, at a private beach club about 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen/an hour and a half south of Cancun. Reception will be at the resort where we are staying
Dress: See photo. I got it from Nordies for less than $200 including tax!
Accessories: Veil is super basic. I''m unsure how it looks with the dress. I''ll try and get photos this week. I picked up a necklace and bracelet from my friend who sells Cookie Lee. Both are made of olive green beads that look sort of like tumbled beach glass.
Invites: As soon as I finish my Christmas cards I''ll start designing my wedding invitations. Right now I''m torn between doing whimsical (I''ve got some images of flip flops, beach balls, etc I could use) and something more elegant. Leaning towards whimsical, but we''ll see what I come up with when I sit down at my craft table. Gotta get those damn christmas cards done...
Honeymoon: We will be staying down in the Cancun area for just shy of two weeks after the wedding. I know where I''d like to stay, but I still haven''t made my reservations.
My grandfather left me enough money to pay for everything right now, but unfortunately that money is tied up in the Florida courts. My FI wants to get all the reservations taken care of so I guess we''ll be putting that on his credit card this week. I REALLY hate to do it, but I know we''ll be getting the full amount any day now and I don''t want to put off reservations any further.
Not sure what else I still need to do. I think I need to pull together a checklist over the next few days and see what I''m missing...
