ERING! Light Blue Sapphire in custom half-bezel 14kt unplated PD-WG

Hi all! I haven''t been around in a while, but my SO proposed at the end of April for my birthday!!

He had a ring custom made by Patrick at Epsilion Creations in Winnipeg, Canada. I LOVE it, it''s perfect! I wanted something vintage but modern (and no prongs), and I loved the look of the Vera Wang Fan ring, so this is blend of all. I also wanted a sapphire in any colour, and this is what they came up with. I had no idea, it was a complete surprise!! Apparently everyone else knew, and he had the ring for MONTHS before he proposed!

What I do know is this: Light Ceylon Blue Sapphire, ~5x7mm, vvs1, princess cut, and VERY brilliant. The stone is set east-west in a half bezel custom setting made in 14kt unplated palladium white gold, sz 5 1/2. We orignally wanted palladium because I have nickel allergies and I didn''t want to be re-plating my ring all the time, and I don''t like the weight of platinum. HOWEVER, I love the colour of the 14kt PD WG unplated, it''s bright like silver but has a depth to it (more liquid looking?) and a hint of warmth.

Thank you so much, everyone! People around here seem to get confused by a sapphire for an engagement ring. When I say I didn''t want a diamond they look at me like I am speaking a different language, lol.
