I'm considering an eternity band for our next anniversary. The "problem" is that I have a beautiful 5 stone band (1 ctw) from a previous anniversary. So I'm torn on what size to consider.

I tried a 2ctw band out last year and while being approximately 10pt stones vs 20 pt stones they looked kind of similar to me (pic below). I wouldn't necessarily wear them together all the time but I would like the option.

I'm considering a 1ctw eternity band which shouldn't be as close to my 5 stone. I have a 0.25 ctw half eternity so a 1 ctw eternity would might be a nice size between the other two and would give me options as I'm considering eventually resetting my busy Tacori style setting into a solitaire. But is a 1ctw eternity substantial enough to potentially wear alone?

Who has a 5 stone and an eternity & what sizes are they? Unfortunately going the other direction to a 4ctw eternity isn't in the cards!!

Costco's 1ctw eternity band is on sale starting tomorrow for 799 lol you could always try it to see if you like it!

Haha, that's exactly why I'm asking, I saw that in the holiday book today! Seems like a good price point to try. I'm guessing that's what you have? It has a nice presence on your hand. Does it fit true to size? I'm a 5.25 and I know they only come in whole sizes.
 
Oh awesome! Yes that is the exact ring haha. I am also a 5.25 (that's what my ering is) and I got a 5, it is very hard to squeeze over my knuckle, but once on my finger, it fits perfectly. I plan on buying a size 6 tomorrow to see if it fits better :)
 
Beautiful, those look great together! What size is your engagement ring stone? Keep me posted on the size when you get it. I'm thinking they might sell out quickly.

I just ordered the size 6!! I also ordered the half eternity on sale for 429 to try :)

My engagement ring stone is 1.7

@anon34985, did you get your ring yet? I was too slow and now they're all sold out online, but I saw one at full price at my local store today and it looked lovely. I wasn't sure about the prongs because that style wouldn't be my first choice but they didn't look as bulky in person as they seemed online.

I did! I love it and so i returned the eternity band :) it think they are fully stocked online right now (if you are talking about the half eternity) or they were this morning anyways!

here is a pic of my 1/2 carat half eternity band in size5!

Beautiful! That one is a good price too. Did you just return your size 6 full eternity, or the size 5 too? Just wondering if I could see a pic of the full vs half eternity? Stones should be similar size, no? I think I looked at the half eternity before and I really liked the prongs if I'm remembering correctly.
 
I returned both the size 5 and 6! neither fit well enough to commit to never being able to size it if that makes sense! But I have photos i will post! they look pretty similar, but you may be right, the half might have a bit smaller prongs! bottom is half, top is full!!

Oh no, my mistake, it's the 1ctw half eternity that I really like the side profile on. Curious what's different to you about the way the half and full eternity fit you in size 5? Is it just that you can size the half of you need to? I just checked and they only have sizes 7 & 8 currently.
 
To me the stones look just slightly bigger in the half eternity.

ohh yes! I will tag you in post, someone has that ring, it is really pretty!! The fit is no different, and I could wear the size 5 eternity, however, we have plans to try for a baby soon, and know fingers can grow, so I just like the assurance of being able to size it :)
 
FWIW, I just posted a couple of pics of the 1 ctw eternity and 1 ctw half-eternity in the Costco jewelry thread. As for sizing, my finger size is 4.5 but my knuckle size has gotten bigger over the years. The size 5 eternity fits but it takes a push over my knuckle. Thinner size 5 rings aren't a problem.
