Eternity ring advice - Blue Nile?

Hello. This forum was so helpful a while back with an upgrade and I’d like your advice again. It’s a special anniversary next month and my husband wants to buy me a new eternity band to complete my new set.

I’ve attached a photo of my ER and Tiffany knife edge platinum wedding band. I’d like a thin full eternity to compliment the other two thin bands.

I’m in the UK and we looked at Tiffany but the price hikes are crazy, (and I love the Cartier Etincelle) but I don’t know if the quality of the diamonds justifies the price vs cheaper options so am considering the Blue Nile riviera pave 1/2 carat which is currently on sale https://www.bluenile.com/uk/wedding-rings/petite-pave-eternity-diamond-ring-platinum_42409

2 questions. Do you think this style is best for my set? And given it’s a standard design, should we just buy from BN or is it worth getting something custom? I want something that sparkles, but given it’s such a small ctw, not sure custom is worth investigating.

I already have a channel set half eternity which I wear on my RH with my original ER and WR and I don’t like the look of a channel set again the knife edge so thought this setting might work best.

Thanks for your help!

I have aftually bought the BN riveria eternity in .25 and .50 and sent them back because I decided I needed a .30 which they don’t have. (I had bought 2 not knowing which size I needed).

They were both very pretty and the price point was excellent. I would have been proud to own one.

It's a very common design, so I see no point in having it custom made. Besides, if you buy from BN and don't like it, you can return it. Can't do it with custom.
The beauty of your rings is that they go with anything.
I have this kind of ring in 3mm, and it's beautiful and comfortable.
Blue Nile lists the ring width and heights, so I would compare it with your ER. It will probably sit higher than your channel set.

I’m also eyeing that same band to pair with a new upgraded ring that has 6 prongs instead of 4. I’m hoping more people chime in!

Thanks for the thoughts, I appreciate them. @whitewave it’s reassuring that you’ve seen these in person as the quality of the sparkle was my main concern.

I’ve just taken another look and the quality of the diamonds is higher in the platinum vs the gold so that’s also in its favour.

I’m trying to decide whether we buy it now with the 30% discount, or wait and see if an increased discount applies next week…

@JenniferMarie90 I’ll follow up if we buy it!

Ok yes, it was plat I bought. I think 30% is good, you don’t want your size to sell out.

That's interesting, I've been looking at this band too but was concerned about the SI2 clarity. Didn't realize the clarity & color were better on the platinum option. That's disappointing, I would like the nicer stones but didn't want platinum.

Sorry to but in but we’re they comfortable between your fingers?

That is sort of a bummer…

I have two BN Riviera .50 tcw eternity bands and love them! They are extremely comfortable, sparkly, and I've gotten many compliments on them. I would definitely buy them again.

Do you have any pics you wouldn’t mind sharing?

I have the Riviera eternity in plat. 1/2ct. I love how low profile it is. It’s very comfortable too. I look forward to what you think when yours arrives.

I think it’s comfortable between my fingers. I mean it’s not as smooth as a plain metal band but I don’t feel it when I’m wearing it. It’s much more comfortable than my larger eternity in my avatar. However, You my be more sensitive than I am?

Oops, I changed my avatar. Anyway, I have multiple pave and prong style eternity bands ranging from
1.5mm -2.6mm and my BN Riviera is by far the most comfortable. I hope that helps.

It’s arrived and it’s a keeper! It sits perfectly against the two knife edge bands in terms of height, and is extremely comfortable. And very very sparkly! I am thrilled and would highly recommend it.

I promised photos so I’ve taken a couple of very quick and unglamorous shots before my husband put it away for our anniversary.

I’ve included one without my wedding band in case anyone reading this is interested in how it looks as a wedding band against a Tiffany 6 prong.

Thank you for all sharing your views, it’s been so helpful. And your set is so beautiful @Bonfire5DFB3908-17ED-418A-8789-7B7C48528D8D.jpegBB1A6767-078C-48B8-AE1A-AC0E0A1FAD72.jpeg

Wow! @MrsDiamondHeart it looks fabulous! I’m so glad you love it. It looks beautiful with your set, enjoy!

You do just fine! ;)
I hope you don’t have to wait along time before you can wear it. Happy Anniversary!!

That's really pretty and sparkly. Hope you don't mind, I had a look at your original engagement ring when you mentioned that you bought it from a rather cool Soho jeweller. I think we have the same scattered diamond band .

Oh how funny! Jess James? I still wear it every day (on my right hand now, with original wedding ring and eternity!)

Yes, sad they closed down i did like that little shop and I still wear mine too, so well made and sturdy. I do like your new set, very nice and that diamond is huge.

OMG this ring set is amazing! It’s making me reevaluate how I want to set my emerald.

Thanks very much! I know, I miss that shop, I have lots of lovely JJ silver rings, bracelets and a pair of diamond earrings which are still in amazing condition 20+ years later. I’m really pleased to know someone else also has that scatter band and still loves it too. It’s part of our story and I’d be crushed if I lost it.

That's good to know and the ring boxes were really special too. Also have a pair of earrings from them and never felt the need to buy different ones, they're small but I love then.
Your old set looks fab on your hands and I like that your left and right sets are so different. They both suit you.

I meant to ask, do you have any pics from the side? I'm curious how this lays against your e-ring. It doesn't look like the diamonds of the eternity band are rubbing your prongs.
