I know there's user error on this image with my bad lighting set-up, but how is this ASET image? @flyingpig @Karl_K any thoughts?

Nice find. These are rare, especially well cut ones are nearly impossible to find.

Actually, this was a minor recut I had done to shorten the LGF. I had some concerns that it was still well cut after the recut, hence posting here, especially since it doesn't seem to display perfect arrows.

Is it a detriment that the arrows are not completely perfect?

Your diamond is tilted downwards, the culet is displaced downwards and the arrows are therefore longer and more pointy downwards. I'm sure it's more of difficulty aligning the diamond than the mains being very off.

Do you perceive reduced performance following the recut? Do you have a picture of the old ASET?

I'm sure it's at least partly my abilities, but I can't get the arrows to line up so they all look exactly the same as each other, the way vendor photos do. I didn't get to see an old ASET. It performs great; I just wondered if I would see even more activity under the table if the arrows were more perfect. But you may both be right, and it's just a matter of aligning the diamond better.

are you going to wear an aset image or the diamond?
It rocks its ok to love it.

 Very good point! I've waited so long for my perfect stone that I'm just second-guessing now that it's here. Will try to stop over-analyzing now. Thanks for your help on my various threads getting to this point, Karl.

You already kinda knew there was a bit of challenge with the pavilion side, at least. The cutter managed to produce a great result despite the challenge and angle variations. That is actually positive and relieving.

Yes, very true. Thanks for the perspective and thank you for all your help.

It looks beautiful (but I'm not an expert). How do you feel about your new diamond in comparison to your old cut? (:

I'd missed the performance of an MRB when I had my old cut, but I still wanted the chunky facets, so I think the new diamond is the best of both worlds. The ideal cut, balanced performance but with the bold flashes and chunky fire. It really is my dream stone. I just got nervous because I wanted to make sure it was up to par on paper since I didn't trust my eyes alone.

Looks like a really lovely cross over like an old european cut'ish.

Hi Kim, one thing to consider. I think if you send your diamond to GIA, the 65% lowers would drop the cut grade to "Very Good", no matter how ideal the rest of the cut parameters.

If you wanted to avoid this, you could switch into the Circular Brilliant category by making a slight adjustment to the star lengths, reducing them to 50%. You would also need to increase the culet size to at least medium (3%).

Sorry if I'm the bearer of bad news, but I thought it would be best to point this out now, just in case.
