Hi-
Wondering if anyone has bought side stone pairs from Dayagi diamond before? How was your experience? Returns easy?

I have been looking for I/J traps and they have a great variety at pretty great prices (I was quoted $1500 per carat for a 0.52 pair, so $780)....wondering if it's too good to be true.

Thanks!

@PearCraze - it looks like you have bought from Dayagi a few times? Mind sharing your experience?

Yes I have plenty to share! So the customer service was great, but know that even though this company has locations in the US (or whichever country you may be from), the company base (like where you pay and the customer service reps) are in Israel. So if you email a question in the US time zones, you will probably get a response in the middle of the night. Which was fine with me- they were very responsive and I must have asked them for 10 quotes. There was no pressure to buy. Similarly- you pay for shipping - going and coming. Keep that in mind when selecting diamonds as it is probably cheaper to ship from the US if you are in the US (if that makes sense). And, you can also call the location its shipping from- if for some reason you have questions. The next part caused me a little heartburn. They only accept wire transfer and it is over seas. So when I sent the money I did not get confirmation of receipt for many days. Also in Israel, the banks are open on odd days so it was almost a week for them to confirm receipt of my money. Now lets move on to the diamonds. I would say cut is awesome in general and clarity is on point to the description. However, I still think that color may have been a grade lower than I was expecting. So an GIA H looks more like an I. I was buying step cut sides, so they do show color more than brilliant, but I feel like I have seen enough diamonds to maybe make that judgement, anyways I had to return my first set because of that. Which leads me to returns. They do not provide a shipping label for you, and they do require you pay for insured shipping back, so it cost me a lot more shipping it back then it did for them to ship it to me (I guess they had insurance covered when shipping to me). At this point I thanked my stars that I purchased a diamond pair within the country. They did not charge me tax, but it does even out for the cost for the wire. I would buy from them again though, as the quality and price can't be beat (even with shipping costs) and the side stones sparkle beautifully.

Thank you so much for your in-depth review! The website is sparse on the transaction details, so it is so great to hear from someone that has first hand experience on how the company works. I was thinking about ordering multiple pairs to see how they look with my stone and returning the rejects...but now hearing about they only accept wire and do not offer free returns, I am definitely rethinking that method. I live in OR, so sales tax is a non issue for me :).
And the tidbit about color is super helpful, I found Dayagi bc I was searching for J/K side stones (which appear to be pretty hard to come by...everything if E/F/G) to match my center stone, but maybe I should consider I color!
Thanks again! :)

From my interactions with them they seem to be more of a b2b than b2c model, hence the lack of frills that we as consumers are used to get from typical b2c sellers

Makes sense. I am working with a local jeweler for my ring, but he is having difficulty finding J/K colored side stones, so that's what lead me to my own search and finding Dayagi. I will probably send him some pairs and see if would be willing to order them without charging me a ton of markup...otherwise, I will deal with ordering and the hassle of returning myself to save some serious coin!
