I’m looking at Whiteflash
It’s 8 diamonds .50 total carat. 7 in
Is this itty bitty small? I don’t want huge, but I like substantial. I have a 6.75 in wrist so 7 may be good.

Any advice or pics of this bracelet on your wrist is accepted!

It’s 8 small diamonds connected by a thin chain…. It’s going to be delicate, not substantial. I recommend going to Tiffany and trying on a dbty bracelet

I have one that I acquired! But the diamonds are tiny. And it’s pretty but I am wanting one that has a no bigger diamond. But with a good price. The ones on Blue Nile, Tiffany are too expensive.

Was seeing if anyone had this particular one from WF and could provide pics

Thanks!

If you would like a more substantial DBTY, I wonder if you would like to custom your own?

I’ve actually wondered about this before, that why the stones in DBTY necklaces/bracelets are usually quite small. I think it might have something to do with the setting. Since the setting is like a circle around the diamond with no back (exposed culets) if the stones were bigger the culets would irritate or scratch the skin.

If you’d like something more substantial, I think you may prefer a station bracelet, with or without bezels, which has a flat back instead of an open back. That would be far more comfortable to wear and so the individual stones could be bigger.

I have the WF DBTY bracelet. Mine is 6.5inches, platinum and semi-custom because I asked for 9 stones instead of 8. The stones are small, I believe they are 0.06ct each. I was a tiny bit disappointed when the bracelet arrived because the stones were small, but that was a result of my choices, not a reflection on WF. If I was to buy again I would choose 0.1ct stones which I believe many others on the forum have gone for. I would also choose 9 stones again, it means there are less gaps/chain. I do enjoy wearing the bracelet but it is more for spring and summer - with a bare wrist the stones glisten beautifully. In autumn/winter the bracelet is mostly covered by sleeve.

(sorry if the photos are huge)

Edited to say the rule is showing cm.

WF will make a DBTY-style bracelet or necklace in any size, color and clarity melee you wish with as many stations as you wish. They can also make the chain different widths (1 mm, 1.5 mm, etc) and with different types of clasps.

For me, personally, anything below a .15 ct melee would be too delicate, and I greatly prefer .18 or larger.

But like AllAboardTheBlingTrain rightly pointed out, the larger the diamond, the more the pavilion will stick out underneath (or on top when it flips). You can feel the pavilions against your skin. Some people don't like the feeling, others don't mind it.

I recently had WF make a necklace for me with .20 ct melee. I find this a nice size and still very understated looking. I'm in the process of designing a longer, opera-length necklace and am considering go up to .25 melee.

Here's a visual reference of my 9 station, 16.75" DBTY necklace: (.20 ct melee, D/E color, VVS clarity, 1 mm platinum chain)

This is my Whiteflash custom DBTY bracelet. It has 8 diamonds, .10 ct each (also referred to as 10 points or a 10 pointer, a .05 ct diamond would be 5 points) and is 6.75 inches. I'll point out that the two most visible diamonds in the picture are actually flipped meaning you are looking at the bottom of the diamond. This comes with the territory of having a DBTY bracelet. The diamonds will flip so that some you might actually be looking at the bottom and some you might be looking at the top. But as you move around that will change. That is a deal-breaker for some people so just wanted to point that out.

You can search the forums for DBTY and find many threads with other examples of various number and sizes of diamonds.

Just remember that stock jewels are returnable and refundable, custom pieces are not.

Try a costume one to see how you feel about it - Berricle would be a good source.

I bought one from them and decided I don't like that style as it is too delicate for my liking. I tried stacking it with other bracelets and bangle that I have and it pales into insignificance, so I don't wear it.

And the stones flip.

DK :))

While I love my DBTY necklace, I didn't care for the bracelet version and quickly replaced it with a tennis bracelet. The diamonds were tiny and too far apart, and flipped constantly. I think even with larger diamonds and more of them, the flipping would still annoy me.

Ok so thank all fir your advice, pics and perspectives!!
Which one would you get?
I hope I can post these.

Sorry I thought you had ruled out a Tiffany and instead wanted to go with a vendor like Whiteflash or Brian Gavin. Or are the pictures above just representative and you are asking about going with a 6 stone vs. 3 stone?

These are what I found on a consignment site. I like the 18k and thought they were good prices? Just getting opinions on which one is the better of the two. And why

Can anyone give me an opinion on these bracelets and watch one you think is a great buy? Thanks!!

We can’t see any information in your posts about the price of each so it’s hard to say. If the top bracelet is 6 diamonds at.33 total carat weight then each individual diamond is .055 ct. If the bottom one is .3 total carat weight then each individual diamond is .10 ct. so bottom bracelet will have bigger diamonds. But with only three of them you might only ever see one of them when you look down at your wrist based upon how the bracelet has shifted.

Have you priced out a bracelet at Whiteflash yet? You may be able to beat even consignment prices for a Tiffany bracelet of the same size.

Whiteflash has one with 8 .50 tcw. $1895.
The Tiffany one is bigger right? It’s on sale for 1500. Plus I have some gc credit I can use.

The Whiteflash one has 8 diamonds with each diamond being .0625 carat. So the individual diamonds are bigger than the individual diamonds in the 6 diamond Tiffany bracelet but smaller than the individual diamonds in the 3 diamond Tiffany bracelet. Again, its up to your personal preference but having a bracelet with only 3 diamonds are spaced far enough apart that you will never see more than 2 diamonds on our wrist at the same time when you look down at it.
