Hi all, please can I ask for your opinion on this 0.81ct J I1? https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...j-color-i1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-18295163

I'm looking for some cheap and cheerful well-cut <1ct MRBs for various projects including a pair of bezel-set studs and an e-ring alternative for days when I'd like to be a bit more discreet.

To be honest, I'm not looking for a super-uber-ideal cut; I'd rather save the premium and have something that's 95% of the way there :geek2: (I just looked up the closest ACA - 0.80ct J SI1 for $2,700 compared to this one at $870!).

For this stone in particular, please can I ask:
1. Am I right in thinking that the white spot inclusions won't really be noticeable in real life (circled in green)?
2. The cloud inclusion - how has this manifested in the stone itself? I'm not sure if the light return under the table is diminshed, or if that's just the photography/videography

In general,
3. Would you steer clear of I1's that look relatively clean on the photos/videos, because an I1 cloud would significantly impact light return?

One of my superpowers is lack of colour sensitivity and don't mind going down the colour spectrum at all - I have some M-coloured MRBs bezelled in YG that I love. I also prefer fire over brightness, so don't mind crown angles of 35+ degrees (to a reasonable extent, of course).

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

In general I'd avoid i1 with clouds as the primary inclusion gecause it will almost certainly impact light return. I agree that the white spots won't be an issue, but I suspect the cloud will be

I agree, an I1 grade setting cloud is going to cause issues.

Thanks both! Nice and clear answer =)2

And the stone is deep so will show a lot more color
