Dear PS-ers! DH is upgrading my ering, so am looking to find THE diamond. Currently am stuck between a 2ct F VS2 and a 2ct G VS1, both H&A super-ideal cut. Would highly appreciate your help choosing between the two stones.

Thank you in advance :)

Pictures, certs, ASETs?
The F should be whiter, and generally VS2 is eye clean, but pics are helpful. A well cut G in a MBR should also be white and a VS1 is almost certainly going to be eye clean.
More info, especially pictures and links to their grading reports will definitely get you more helpful feedback ☺️

HI:

What and where are the grade making inclusions?

cheers--Sharon

Thank you for your response @anangel! I will be requesting more pictures, but both stones are ACA super ideal cut, and eye-clean as per WF. Am just curious if VS2 will have an impact on the beauty of the stone, or will the inclusions be visible in everyday use in VS2 vs VS1.

I am not certain I understand your question. Please forgive my naiveté, am not a diamond expert :-/

Ask WF if the G is a high, middle or low G. I would be tempted to go with the G if it was a high or middle G. I'm assuming the price difference is minimal.

So I attached a random whiteflash grading report so you could see what they were talking about. This SI1 has inclusions in the center of the table- that’s not a desirable place to have inclusions since they can’t be hidden by prongs and are more likely to be seen by the naked eye vs something off to the side. Also, if we were taking about SI1s, you’d probably get warned about very clean clarity plots where clouds are the defining inclusion, as those can impact light performance.
If you’re only looking at Whiteflash ACAs with those stats, they’re pretty much all going to be an exceptional choice, as the vendor has vetted those diamonds throughly. If you’d like to share the certs, you can get some feedback on opinions of the inclusions, or if one leans more towards colored or white light return. That being said, ACAs should have consistent performance over all.

Put the diamonds on hold and provide the links, please.

There is not a huge color difference between F and G. I think there can be a bigger difference between VS2 and VS1. However, you really do have to evaluate each diamond individually and WF will give you their opinion as well. Would love to see the certs on both!

Nahhh, VS stone is a pretty safe bet for being eye clean.

Thank you everyone for the advice. Will a WF ACA G show tint? My current ering is a 0.5ct D FL solitaire, and am worried I may detect tint since I am used to seeing my current ering.

I have asked for more details on the stones, specifically if the G is a high or low G, and am waiting on hearing back from WF.

Why don't you ask for side-by-side photos of the F and the G, face up and face down?

Depends on which lab graded your current Ering?. Is it GIA?

My current ering is 0.8 D ACA and I’m getting H color for my upgrade. I think with going to lower color we need to acknowledge that it will show some tint. Its just a matter of which level of tint you’ll be comfortable with. Everyone have different line on this. But don’t compare it with D color. See the F/G/H as it is first and feel if you’re comfortable with that level of tint.
If its a good VS2, I think the F is safer option if you mind about color
