Hey ladies -- you guys are such good scouts, I am hoping to can help me out. I am looking for ideas for wraps or shrugs for me and my bridesmaids for my late October wedding. Everything I''ve come across looks so winterish, but that''s not really the look I''m going for. (Read: no white fur wraps!!!) BUT... I live in Minnesota, so I am running the risk that it might be pretty chilly. I was looking for something to give to them that they could wrap up in for the ride between chapel/reception, instead of everyone throwing on their ski parkas over their bridesmaid dresses.

My girls are wearing black dresses, and most of my decorations are black, silver and white with a splash of burgundy.

If you guys have any ideas or suggestions, I could really use the help! I''m starting down the slippery slope of running out of TIME! Ahhh!!!

lulutheleo, have you considered making them, or having them made? That way you could get the color you wanted...burgundy or even silver...in the weight of material that you wanted also. Just a thot. Even a white trimmed in burgundy would be really nice :} especially where the dresses are black. Just my 2c worth :} All the best :}

What about something like this? It''s a good price for a handmade wrap, and it supports a good cause.

Btw, do you have a budget you are working on, and how many do you need?

I''m not on too much of a budget. I have three bridesmaids, and then I''d like to get one for my flower girl and maybe one for me too! So, anywhere from 3-5.

I like the idea of having them made, but I just don''t know exactly what I want yet! I do like those alpaca wraps though.

lulutheleo,
Here is a nice pattern with 2 different lengths, if you prefer wrap to shawl...just ignore the dog jacket - lol... hope this is a help :}

Hi! I''m new here, but also a bride to be.

I''m getting my maids these:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000A7HX0S/ref=ord_cart_shr/002-0791182-7164859?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance

in black! I have one for myself, it''s very soft and quite attractive, if I do say so.

HTH!

fall bride here too. i''m giving them pashmina''s-chocolate brown ones. actually knock-off ones for $10 a piece from bijoux turner.

Ann Taylor has these chiffon shrugs in black and wine. They also have a cardigan with a pretty closure in ivory.

This wrap cardigan could be pretty, and this sweater would be a bit much to get in and out of, but it''s silver. I have this sweater to wear over a black dress for my reception! It has a lovely drape.

You might want to check out Deco''s old thread, she had a bunch of caridgan/wrap/shawl options in there.

Good luck!

You guys rock! I knew you would give me some great ideas!

jcrow -- what is bijoux turner?

it''s a store that sells everything for $10. they are usually located in airports or high volume touristy areas like very large hotels- think vegas hotels. the warps come in a million colors and are very nice quality for $10. you''d never know that''s the price. if you know of anyone who is traveling or travels a lot, maybe ask them for a favor.

lulu -

I bought pashminas for my girls, and used ebay seller zenjen. She was really good and the quality of the pashminas was wonderful. She also has a large variety of colors, so check it out.

The girls really liked the pashminas, it was quite chilly and they were using them all day!

What a great idea. I''ve been trying to think of a gift for my bridesmaid and I think this would be perfect for a winter wedding in California.
