So I found some songs that are a bit more off-beat that I am considering. They are both about younger children for the most part, but do you think they still work? I would want to make sure my Dad likes them of course, haha. Both of these songs are by Plumb which is actually a Christian rock band. I don''t listen to Christian rock, but I like the songs from what I see of the lyrics. I also like more traditional choices like It''s a Wonderful World. So my question is, do you think they''re appropriate songs? Like I said I think they may be too young.

Song # 1 - In My Arms:

Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your Curly Que''s
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight
Knowing

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Story books
Are full of fairy-tales
Of kings and queens
And the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You''ll someday see
The truth for lies

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
Cause you are never all alone
Cause I will always
Always love you

Hey I
Hey I
Will love

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

In my arms

Song # 2 - Blink

When I think of how slowly life passes by
Then I''ll blink and you''re growing
No longer a child
What I can do, to capture this moment in time
Is to sing you a lullaby

I like to watch you dream
I like to touch your face
I like to hold you in a sweet embrace
When will you laugh? When will you cry?

When you need a special place to hide

When I think of how slowly life passes by
Then I''ll blink and you''re growing
No longer a child
What I can do, to capture this moment in time
Is to sing you a lullaby

When I think of how slowly life passes by
Then I''ll blink and you''re growing
No longer a child
What I can do, to capture this moment in time
Is to sing you a lullaby

Song # 3 - Always

And see a small reflection
And when you close your eyes
I pray the thoughts inside
Are beautiful and true

I won''t always
Be this strong
And I won''t always
Be the one
To kiss the bruise
Or heal the scrapes
To wipe the tear drops
From your face

But I will always love you more each day

So open up your eyes
So they can look in mine
And see a small reflection
And when you close your eyes
I pray the thoughts inside
Are beautiful and true

I will always love you more each day
I will always try to keep you safe

So open up your eyes
So they can look in mine
And see a small reflection
And when you close your eyes
I pray the thoughts inside
Are beautiful and true

I will always
I will always ... love you

All three of them would probably make me cry, but I''m in a place where Father/Daughter songs will do that do to me at the drop of the hat.

Based on lyrics alone, not having heard the melody, my vote is Song #2.

My new favorite for love is Alicia Keys...can''t get the CD out of rotation in my car. "Everytime you hold me...hold me like it is the last time...Argh...

I like the 3rd one best!

Just wanted to say thanks for the input, now it''s time to run them by my Dad and see what he thinks. Oh and Mom.
