I love polka dots. FI doesn't. We've been compromising so far. We have swiss dots on our cake, but they are all white. Our wedding colors are blues and purples. The bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen vests, and napkins are all a navy blue, so the only place I'm really tying in the purple is in the flowers (mine will be dark blues and purples, the bms will be lighter blues and purples, and flowers on the cake and centerpieces will be all mixed). I really wanted to tie in the blue/purple with the favors, and when I found this ribbon I thought it would be perfect! The only problem is, I don't really know what to do with it. I had one idea to get the clear plastic favor boxes, and fill them with blue and purple M&Ms, and tie the ribbon around them. The problem would be that the boxes are 1 5/8 inches, and the ribbon is 1 1/2 inches. Do you think I could cut the ribbon in half? This is the only ribbon that has a mix of the shades I'm looking for, and I can't find anything thinner. Any other ideas on favors using this ribbon? I'd really like to do some sort of candy, and nothing too outrageously expensive. Oh, and if I use it for the favors, I would definitely also use it on the flower girl basket. Would it be too much to also use it for the bm bouquets?

ETA: I'm only considering the blue ribbon, not the pink/green.

I love polka dots too! But I wouldn''t cut the ribbon in half, it will probably mess up the edges. But you always look for a different box right? Or DIY bag mades from cellophane with an sticker tag on it?

Oh and I know this doesn''t make any sense with your ribbon, but just came across these and I totally love this!

or what about this package? It has a huge ribbon around it too

I''d definitely try and put it on the favor bag/boxes and also on the bottom of the bridesmaids bouquets. If you have favor boxes you can tie the ribbon around the top and the same if you have the clear bags.

Dutchgirl, I LOVE the look of that favor you posted! I had never actually seen a large ribbon on it, and I think having a thinner ribbon through the middle pulls it all together. I had always pictured tying bows and then tying the thank you tags on the end of the bow, and that just doesn''t work with the thicker ribbon. But this will, and I think I can even get little loops in blue and purple to go over it!

and Bee, if the boxes don''t work, then I''ll definitely try bags. My brain must not work in favors, I hadn''t even considered those either!
Thanks!
