So I only own two pairs of black pants and neither is particularly flattering. One has a super high waist- so 1982, and the other slips down all the time for some reason. Since I''m in the market for a new pair, what are y''alls favorite brands of black pants?

i don't have a 'brand' that i like particularly, i don't like jcrew or banana at all for pants, banana in particular i can't stand, as they are so not flattering to me....i tend to just buy something that ends up fitting right and looks good and if i can get two pairs, i do.

my pairs i have now, one is theory, one is tahari for more dressy and then i have some BCBG i think and also charlotte pants for me the black i can dress up or down but it's casual material. and i have a few pairs of flowing black gauchos that i just pick up here and there.

Hands down without a doubt Theory, they make the most glorious pants. The cut, the styles and the fabric are exceptional. I think I have 8 - 10 pairs. I know that I have several pairs in the same style because I loved them so much. They are classic.

I love the limited pants (cassidy cut). They fit me SO well.

the only black dress pants i''ve found to fit me are limited''s Drew.

The most flattering black pant I''ve ever gotten was by DKNY. Light wool with a little bit of stretch to them in a cute crop leg with tiny black sequins around the waist- great for dressing up or daily wear to the office. I''m not at all hip-y so these pants fit right and don''t have extra room in the hip to make me look like I have saddlebags for thighs. The worst cut for my shape is made by Old Navy- just way too big and cut too hip-y. I think Old Navy is good for women who are more pear-shaped.

I got some really cute ones from Guess recently! Slim low-aisted fit, and a cute butt! Reasonably priced as well...

roppongi.....do Theory pants run true to size? I have been eyeing a pair Theory Tessie trouser jeans on the Nordstrom website.....

Mightyred, yes, they are true to size. Infact all of my pants are either a 0 or 2 so they run pretty consistent with their sizes. You will not regret buying them, they are awesome.

HI:

Those would be my black Prada slacks before I shrank them (dam lycra is unforgiving once heated....)...I love their fit--low rise and straight cut....

cheers--Sharon

I really like INC pants from Macy''s or Bloomingdales. They usually have a good selection of basic black pants.
