I need some new ideas for me and DH!

What''s you''re favorite healthy work lunch? Going to a restaurant/take-out doesn''t count, but grocery store food can:-)

If I''m picking something up, mine is Gourmet Garage''s Grilled Dofu Salad with Spicy Asian Mint Pesto (basically a huge salad with tofu, cilantro, fish sauce, and mint) YUM!!!

if I''m packing my lunch, it''s usually leftovers from dinner the night before

I keep chobani yogurt, veggie burgers, and salad greens at work in case I don''t pack anything

DH takes leftovers, a turkey sandwich, hotdogs, or pizza

I want some new, fast, healthy, cheap lunch ideas.

Also, if you are in NYC try the GG salad, it is awesome!

Pita bread, hummus, sliced cucumbers and tomatos, sometimes feta

Spinach leaves, dried cranberries, nuts/seeds, chinese noodles, mandarine oranges in a small can

Tuna, light mayo, cucumber, tomato and little pumpernickle breads

Tortilla, black bean hummus, lettuce and salsa

I make a huge lot of vegetable soup every week. I freeze what I won''t use within a reasonable amount of time. It''s really my favorite food, and you can make it taste different depending on what you put in it.

One of my favorite finds was a 100 calorie wheat flat bread. I buy deli meat and take things like lettuce, tomatoes and pickles to put them together at work.

I also like leftovers especially from things like low fat lasagna.

My favorite low cal/low WW points value lunch is:

A sandwich with
- Nature''s own honey wheat light bread (less than 100 calories for 2 slices, 1 point)
- Turkey breast from the deli counter (like 70 calories for 2 ounces, 1 point)
- One slice of Finlandia Light swiss cheese (70 calories, 1 point)
- slices of tomatoes (no points)
- Salt and pepper (no points)

and half a can of Progresso''s light soup (0 or 1 pt.)

Yummy and filling!

These are great ideas, keep em coming. DH just got a new job, but it means we really need to get better about packing meals. We''re both going to be gone for all lunches, and at least 2 dinners each week. I just got an awesome lunch box, but now I need to fill it

I tried to add my lunches the other night, but PS ate my post. Anyways,

-tuna with some light mayo on a 100% whole wheat bun

-salad made with baby spinach, fresh romaine, half an avocado, egg, and carrot. I use balsalmic vingarette dressing.

-leftovers from the night before (usually rice, veggies, and tofu)

-hummus and pita bread is also good

ETA: I always try to have a protein with my lunch.

I''ve seen my coworkers eat:

-soup
-fruit, granola, and yogurt (this always looks good to me)
-veggies, lunch meat, and a slice of bread
-more leftovers
-sandwich with avocado and cucumber

If you can heat things up at lunch, a baked potato is nice. I also make soup every week and freeze it in portions to take with me and re-heat at school.

I also like to keep a big tub of fresh fruit salad in the fridge, and pack some in a tub to take with me for a snack or to make lunch more of a treat. It''s nice with a spoonful of yoghurt on top.

Wraps are good, with loads of salad and some shredded chicken.

When I''m at home, or if I eat iin the restaurant at school, I like to eat a big meal at lunch and a light meal in the evening if I can. When I do it the other way round, I''m starving by mid afternoon and go to bed too full to sleep well.

Today i''m taking in a big portion of spagetti with quorn mince cooked in a bolognase sauce... i''m on weightwatchers and its 6.5 pts but totally filling!!
