Ok PS peeps, help me out. I am in love with Emeralds that have that "blue-green" hue from the muzo mine. If I'm talking nonsense, stop me. Caysie sold a three stone with one in the center years ago. Has haunted me ever since. Link to stone I like:

When I inquired about treatments, as the original listing was there and had all the stats, but looked SUPER old, and had no 'treatments" listed on it, she said not treatment. I asked specifically about cedar oil and that I was ok with it, and she said no treatment and I should be able to tell by the color that there was no treatment. The gems she is selling are all STILL sealed in those packages with the certs.

Did I stumble upon a treasure or a dud?

From the seller- from cert

I think the price is pretty reasonable! Is it your dream color?

Pretty much. Haven't found anything around that for the price~!

The bolded part is BS. But, I think you did stumble upon a treasure, if the old seals are real.

Are you able to see other stones in the listing? She wants cash. lol!

I was able to see other stones in the listing, but they were too dark for my liking. I hope the transaction works out for you!

Sorry, I did a little more homework and I take it back. I would not buy from this lady because I don’t think you can verify that this is what she says it is. The lab doesn’t seem reputable.

Yeah, this one raises a few flags. LOL!

I think it’s not worth it, I don’t trust any seller/vendor that calls a gem an ‘investment’

She said they are her mother in laws and she got them in a divorce settlement. Said she knew nothing about gemstones. I think I'd need that emerald to be unpackaged before I bought it.

Things that stand out to me, the ruby and the sapphires she has are a poop quality, really poop, too dark and meeh in colour.

She can tell that an emerald is untreated just by looking at the colour? She must be a genius because I can't do that and most of the people that I know that work with gemstones probably cannot either. The emerald looks fairly included and an O.K colour...

Emeralds that are untreated irrespective of origin do command a higher price than minor oil, and moderate oil and a lot of oil..... that IS true.

The colour of it doesn't specifically do much for me (it's not bad, it's not top it's OK) but that is an individual thing.

I wouldn’t trust those lab certificates at all. While you might think you’re getting a bargain gemstone, you are more than likely buying a highly treated possibly even lab created gemstone.
Her Mother in law may well have bought them years ago.
There was an unfortunate trend many years ago in “investment gemstones” being sold Online to naive and trusting people. The gems were total rubbish but they came in fancy sealed contains with fancy paperwork and ludicrous “valuations” with people being told to sit on them for a least 5 years so the value could triple. So when the time came to sell people found out they had been duped and the scam operators were long gone.

Hahahahaha! So someone is sophisticated enough to post all of the AGL-like numbers indicating that this is essentially a $20,000 - 50,000 Kashmir sapphire but is also willing to part with it for < $1,000 and references a 1994 price point???

And where are those data taken from? I can type all those numbers on my next FB post...

Ladies, I'm present now on the right post and forum, thinking to purchase something to my wife, she is worthy the best ones, but my business this year is not that good, so maybe some advices, where I can buy? I'm not specialist and don't understand what is good and what can make her cry (joking).

The sad truth is that gemstones (unless of the highest quality and top top top in every way) are unlikely to be an investment. Emeralds (of which there are an abundance) are one of those stones that unless they're a huge carat weight without any jardin, they may hold their value or even lose some. I have an inherited Emerald of the finest quality (absolutely no jardin and the most wonderful glow) but honestly, it's not an investment. It's already over 100 years old and it's probably kept up with inflation but that's it.

If you absolutely love the Emerald and the price is fair (I didn't notice what it was) then it may be worth getting and seeing it in person - IF there's a good returns policy. You could also send to a lab and get the seller to stand by the returns to allow you X days to do it. I would also pay in a way that I could get my money back if the seller decided not to honour your deal.

At least that way you'll see the Emerald and you'll know if it's love at first sight or not.
