I have been following this and feel very conflicted. Part of me thinks "finally!" There NEEDS to be more testing. I am on a government recall list and get e-mails ALMOST everyday. Frankly, I do get nervous with the mass constructed plastic toys from china. It will be peace of mind to know that x toy, cup, etc... was deemed "safe." But my heart also goes out to consignment shops, thrift stores, or any parent who has an idea to buy or sell used children''s items. Seems like such a waste that all of it has to be thrown away.

This is going to hurt A LOT of people financial (both consumers and retailers!) It will be nearly impossible for them to enforce this with all the outlets we have today (etsy, ebay, craig''s list, etc...) but the punishment is severe. Might be enough to scare people. I have a feeling they will loosen this up a bit. I am guessing a TON of people are writing their congress person as I type this.
