I read in another thread you are changing from your fabulous 3 stone back to a solitaire? Give us some more details... pretty please? I love your ring in every form it''s been in!

I am!

It's for a variety of reasons ranging from being sentimental (or just mental, lol) about my original e-ring setting (platinum cathedral from Blue Nile), wanting my e-ring to sit flush with my wedding band (and knowing DH will someday give me a second matching diamond band to flank the other side of my e-ring and I want them to sit totally flush), and that my favorite wedding sets are solitares with either plain wedding bands (Ellen's Gail's, LaurenthePartier's) or with diamond wedding bands (JCrow's, JFo's, my original set). When I actually do put my center stone in the new setting (sometime this month), most likely I'll be sending the three stone setting to Pearlman's to consign (with the sidestones) or take the sidestones out and turn them into earrings

But after this I'm done changing my e-ring. I even told DH I have no interest in upgrading my stone to something bigger. My center stone is the prefect size for me, my lifestyle and the "look" I want for my wedding set. Also, it's my original center stone (an a beautiful one!), so again sentimental reasons

Besides, I have a pendant on the horizons for sometime next year that I need to start researching and thinking over!

Feb2003!! Oh my gosh! You are changing it up again? Well your ring has always looked great in every form and I am sure this one will too. Your princess stone is one of the most beautiful I've seen. What exact setting are you getting? Can you go back to the setting you had at quest or is that one gone? Do you still have your half bezel pendant (am I remembering right)? That one is really pretty. I hope this setting is *it* and everything you have dreamed of. I love your 3 stone by the way, are you sure you won't miss it? How about putting in a sapphire or another colored stone center?

Also, I am incredibly flattered that my ring is one of your favorites!!! You are so kind. I'm fond of it too. I wish I had known about ideal cuts (or rather, that my DH had known) but I don't think they were talked about as much when we got engaged about 7 yrs ago. I often wonder how much better my ring could look with an ideal cut stone,and if I ever upgrade the center I will get one for sure. For now though I do really love my ring. I just got the straight 3 mm band from EWB.com and it is a lot more fun to wear since it is not constantly turning around like the curved band did. I will post pics of all my loot from this past year - I know I owe everyone pics! (I got small earrings and a pendant last spring and never posted good pics.)

I totally understand your reasons for wanting a solitaire back, and i loved your ring most when it was a solitaire! I try not to be sentimental about stuff, but i went to try my ering on today (dont have it yet), and i couldn''t imagine wanting to change it. I also love a ring that sits flush. If I were you, I''d take those sidestones and make them into earrings for sure! About what is this pendant idea.... lol??? Spill some details!

Yes, but after this I am done. Done. Done! DONE. Seriously!

I don''t have the original setting because it was dinged (and a huuuge ding) and the jeweler couldn''t repair it, so when I filed a claim with Traveler''s, I had to turn the setting in to them. I couldn''t have used it anyway (seriously, the scratch was huge!). The new setting is...up in the air. It will be a platinum cathedral but from where is to be determine. I''ve poured over Whiteflash''s website extensively but what they have in stock, while beautiful, it''s not exactly what I want. I don''t want tapered, I don''t want surprise stones and the one plain cathedral they do have is much wider than I want. To chose a setting from them and then "tweak" it is costly because then it becomes semi-custom. Bob at Whteflash has patience that no other human being on this planet could possibly have!

Plus with the holidays coming up, I''m not eager to send my center stone registered USPS mail with millions of other boxes.

I was really torn between an x-prong/trellis solitare or a cathedral with v-tips or basket setting. But I''m definitely going with the cathedral with v-prongs because I need this setting to sit flush with my wedding band, and I want the corners of my princess stone to be secure.

You do owe us pictures missy!

I really want to see your plain 3mm band!! And you''ve added to your collection and have posted not a single picture? Shame, shame, shame!

Happyfeet- The pendant will be a 2008 project. I''m still thinking it over but have tentatively narrowed it down to either the WF Bellerine pendant, the WF Tandem pendant, or the WF 4 corners pendant. Or I may go the Blue Nile route and "create my own" or dump the whole project into DH''s lap and let HIM decide and it would be a 31st birthday gift

You are going to post pictures of your e-ring when your Bf proposes, yes??? It''s a PS rule, ya know!

Woo you are such a sweetie! I will keep you in the loop, however I''m not sure I''ll post pictures. If asked I may, but since it''s just a cathedral solitare I''m not sure how many posters would want to see it

I may post a picture of the new setting with the WF scattered band I just got. I don''t think a photo has been posted yet of the scattered ring with a cathedral setting yet.

Who knows, maybe I''ll change my mind and post 200 pictures!

But I''m so happy to be going back to a solitare because it just seems "right". The right fit with my wedding band, the right fit for my stone, etc.

Anyway, thanks for thinking of me Woo! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
