Fed up and bored!!

Hi Ladies,

Not much point to this thread, I''m just feeling really fed up and wondering what you are all up to? Not sure what time it is over in the US but it''s 10.00pm here and I''m doing absoloutely nothing. I''ve spent all night ironing. IRONING!! On a Friday night!! I really didn''t have any choice as I almost lost my cat in the ironing basket it was so full....... (Oh yeah, I''ve had a new kitten as my other cat never came back.)

I''m craving chocolate but there''s none in the house and I''m in my pyjamas and don''t feel like getting dressed to fetch any. Keep thinking that if I was engaged I''d have loads of wedding related tasks to be getting on with and would never be bored again! Ha ha!

Hmmm........ Oh yes! I''m also feeling annoiyed at my future (hopefully!) SIL. We went to an aerobics class the other night and she said something about talking to her mum about me and SO (her brother) getting married and she had been saying she wondered when he would ask me. APPARENTLY her mum turned around and said, "I think it should be the other way around." So SIL said, "What, she should ask him?" And her mum said, "No, you should be getting married soon." I don''t know why but it really annoyed me! She been with her boyfriend three years less than I''ve been with mine and she''s three years younger! I know that doesn''t mean anything at all but it was just the way that she made out that her mum would prefer HER to be getting married than me and SO. Anyway, rant over!

Will go now as really haven''t got much to say but hadn''t posted in a while and thought I''d see if anyone was about

10:06pm here and I am laying in my pjs, contemplating bed on a Friday night. Woe is me, all I do is write my paper and sleep!

I don''t know if your SO''s mom meant that as anything against you. It kind of reads to me (not knowing either of them whatsoever) like the mom was trying to put her daughter in her place, by saying "worry about your own life, leave them alone." That''s how I read it, anyway.

I wish I had some chocolate to share with you, but I haven''t had any for months and am craving some as well! Blarg.

It''s 11.26pm here and I''m sitting in watching Johnathon Ross after scrubbing the shower and hoovering all evening. D is out in the pub and I said that I''d collect him later so I can''t even have a nice glass of Rose to cheer myself up!

Sorry to hear about what your FMIL said, although it seems to be that a lot of mothers plan for their daughter''s weddings over their son''s weddings.

6:20 in Texas. Still at work; may be here until 8pm. I''m filling in for my receptionist''s evening hours since she will work tomorrow. Good news is, I didn''t come in until 11am. My DH works late on Fri, too. Then I have a 45 minute drive home; 30 minutes of it on the state''s busiest highway. Oh joy. When DH and I finally meet up, we''ll head to one of the local chain restaurants for a bite, ''cause they''re the only ones open here after 10pm. Is it any wonder we never get up before 9am on Saturday?

The only thing that's making me feel better is a half pint of pistachio ice cream

. BF got it for me on his way home--The boy is working his a$$ off to make it up to me hehe

Anyway, Chocolatefudge...I wouldn't pay your FMIL's comments any mind. It sounds like just talk...conversation (think about convo's your mother may have with you) and it was probably simply focused on a mother speaking "mother-talk" to her daughter.

Do you think parents focus more on the marriage of their daughters vs. their sons? Kind of like, their sons have all the time in the world? Not a threadjack...just out of curiosity.

It''s 10:15 pm here. I am in my comfie clothes, watching stargate syndication,being my usual nerdy self. I bought a book to read today- Twilight- and ended up finishing the entire book before nine- oops!




Also- I do thinks mothers worry more about their daughters getting married then their sons- so it probably wasn''t anything personal.

Hi Ladies,

Wasn''t expecting so many respnses! Well it''s 10.15am now and I''m still lying in bed trying to coax myself into getting ready as I''m going shopping with my mum and sisters today. Having only been awake for 20 minutes I''ve already managed to get myself into trouble with my sister and don''t really know how! She texted me to ask if we were ging shopping today so I rang my mum to see if she wanted to come as she hadn''t been well. As I was on the phone my other sister texted to ask if we were shopping. When I got off the phone I texted them both the same message saying that yes, we were going shopping and to meet at our mum''s in about half an hour. Sister 1 then immediately rang me.
Me: "Hello?"
Sister: "That''s fine."
Me: "Ok."
Silence
Her: "What''s up with you?"
Me: "Nothing, why?"
Her: "Ok, I''ll go."
Me: "Ok."

I then get a text from her asking why I''m being funny with her and hardly speaking!!! What?!?! We don''t fall out very often so I texted back and told her I''m fine and now she''s all mody with me!! Families eh? She does it all the time, she''ll ring me for no purpose really and then sit in silence on the phone and because I''ve got nothing to say because she rang me, she goes all funny!

To top it all off, we are bowling tonight to celebrate sister 2 passing her driving test and I have booked the bowling lane. It''s cost me £60 but I''ve had no confirmation email and it doesn''t look like the money has gone form my bank! I don''t want to book again cos then I''ll probably have paid twice and have two lanes! Or we could turn up and have no lane! So now I''ll have to ring them and sort that out.

Phew! I''ll go and get dressed now! Have a lovely day ladies!

By the way! On the cat front, a lady got in contact with me during the week to say a stray cat that looks exactly like mine has been hovering round her farm for a couple of months. Brilliant, I thought! Only her farm is about twelve miles away! Maybe more! I drove up there and it''s one hell of a trek! If it is him then I think he must have been stolen and dumped. It does seem pretty impossible that it could be him but I''m holding out hope! She sas he is quite wary of her but she will try and catch him so she can get his microchip scanned at the vet to see if he is mine! Yay!!

It''s now 12:47pm here, and I am laying in my bed, half-heartedly typing up changes to my thesis and feeling horribly nauseous. Took a shower earlier and then put my pjs right back on. Not one of my better moments, I''m afraid.

Shopping was nice today and then went to see my nan. She lives just along from a church and there was a wedding on today. We always get excited about the weddings and all stand watching out of the window. Anyway, I recognised quite a few guests as friends from school, then I noticed that the bride was someone I know! I felt a bit sad (yes, I am very selfish!) as I know that she has only been with her boyfriend for a couple of years and I did get a touch of the green eyed monster, although I made out to my nan, mum and sisters that I was really happy for her. Anyway, I then texted SO at work and suggested we go on holiday next Easter and he rang me and said, "I don''t think we should, I thought you wanted to get engaged?" I said, "I do, but that''s not happening." Then he said, "Well it will have happened by then and we can''t afford both." Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel really happy now!
