Park's Fine Group @parksfinegroupinc had listed a GIA 2.01 ct Fancy Grey Blue HPHT natural oval diamond some time back and it was snapped up right away, as is usual for his listings. Imagine my surprise when I was soaking one night and went back to the listing and saw that the name for the hold had been removed. I messaged Alex, and indeed it was available again. I thought about it for an hour and messaged back that I wanted it. After partially paying in increments through Zelle, I sent a check for the balance, which was never received. Friday morning I sent another check with tracking and restricted delivery.
I had to figure out how to set it. Initially, I was thinking main stone and two side stones set in a plain, platinum band. I kept sending Alex little tidbits of things I liked about other rings. One of my definite do not likes was the narrowing of the shank as it neared the side stones from the top view. He showed me a ring he had that had its center stone harvested . It had two half moons flanking the spot for the center stone, and pave halfway around the band. The proportions and angles were all that I wanted, but I hadn't thought of pave for the band, but heck, I'm a bling girl at heart so I said go ahead. After some slight modifications, this is the end result. The half moons total .54 and the six different sizes of melee total an additional .59 carats. The ring is platinum. It's perfect. He said it's one of the nicest rings he's made.
FedEx delivered her yesterday, and she is gorgeous. Haven't had the chance to take pictures.
