Hey All,

I put a deposit on the below stone. I know the crown and pavilion angles could be more complimentary, but I think it's beautiful in person.
Here are some specs and a video!!Wwould love to hear your thoughts :)

Measurements 7.65 - 7.69 x 4.74 mm
Carat Weight 1.70 carat
Color Grade I
Clarity Grade VVS2
Cut Grade Excellent

PROPORTIONS
Depth 61.7%
Table 57%
Crown Angle 35.0°
Crown Height 15.0%
Pavilion Angle 41.0°
Pavilion Depth 43.5%
Star Length 45%
Lower Half 80%
Girdle Medium, Faceted, 3.5%

Culet None

I can't really tell anything from the video. In general I wouldn't pair 41 with 35 without advanced images. But if you've seen it in person and like it, that matters a lot!

Very good point!!!
I was concerned about the angles as well, but what i like about this stone is a clean table and it faces up very white! I'll think about it a bit more! :)

Hey all, i decided not to go with the stone...will keep hunting for a stone

That's awesome, thank you for your help :)

I'm looking for an I/VS2, 1.7-1.9 Carat, with an exceptional cut and optical symmetry. Unfortunately Whiteflash and other Super Ideals are not in budget, which is 15k-17k for the stone (some flexibility)

The video is under jewelry store lighting, which is useless since that lighting is specifically designed to make all stones appear bright, shiny, brilliant and firery. There isn’t even a straight on shot of the stone. Advanced images (Hearts & Arrows, Idealscope, etc.) are needed, but for sure you can do better.

That was my thoughts too and I already spoke to the jeweler and am getting my deposit back. I really appreciate the feedback!

What did you think of the Ritani stones I posted in your other thread?

TBH I can’t tell what’s a good stone or not from the imaging…I feel James Allen does a better job with that

Yes, James Allen does do better imaging. I only asked because the value for the money couldn't be beat--it would allow you to get over 2ct for under $18K.
