Hi!

I am considering letting go of either one of both of my pairs of Tiffany & Co ruby and sapphire platinum bands (1 ruby and 1 sapphire band, each pair). The rings are c.1930. They are in great antique estate condition, with two of them previously sized making their hallmarks reading "Tiffany & Co PLAT" a little blurry. The hallmarks on the other two are still very clear. Each has approximately 1.5 carats of natural rubies or natural sapphires, all square step cuts. One pair is size 5.25 and the other 5.5. Gorgeous engraving on the sides of each band.

I can't imagine being able to replicate being able to replicate them in future, but I don't wear jewelry very much these days, IMG-6582.jpg IMG-6583.jpg IMG-6584.jpg IMG-6588.jpg so appreciate any thoughts.

Wow they are amazing what lovely bands! How much are you looking for?

Is the set that's been resized the 5.25 or the 5.5?

And do you happen to have any hand shots?

Hi! Thank you so very much! They were super expensive to acquire, so I would have to put them at $6,500 a pair, which is still discounted. I would include the presentation box and US insured shipping.

I'm pretty sentimental about them, so I may sell one pair first and then another at a later date, so I don't regret the decision - of course, contacting whomever purchases the first pair about the second if I move forward with selling in advance of offering it more widely.

Really appreciate it!

It's hard to tell because one band in each pair has a more worn hallmark - which may just be a reflection on someone putting a 5.25 & 5.5 together most often. But, when I purchased them, it was indicated to me that the 5.5 pair was likely sized by polishing the inside of the bands.

I don't have hand shots at the moment, but happy to take some when the rain stops later today or in the morning :-)

While I wait for some sun, are folks most interested in:
  1. A set of all 4 bands
  2. The 5.25 set (one ruby & one sapphire)
  3. The 5.5 set (one ruby & one sapphire)
  4. Set of both ruby bands
  5. Set of both sapphire bands
Thanks in advance for your comments / sharing your preferences!

Sigh, sigh again.
Stunning, rare, top quality.
So how much and how long do you think to have my “meaty” size 8 finger resized to a size 5?

Those are gorgeous! My input would be that they'd more easily sell individually. I would never wear two bands just alike, Plus they are different sizes and I can wear a 5.5 and not 5.25. Also, at that price, I think you'd have more buyers at $3250 for one. I know if I were in the market, I couldn't possibly justify buying two, but I would be interested in one (but I have other projects in the works and probably cannot do it right now as I have bands I don't wear, too!).

Endless... so I went through my ring box last night and looked at all the colored bands I already have that I don't wear... UGH. Really love these (and would take a set of both colors!) but I can't justify buying more things that look like the things I already have that never see the light of day. So sad... ;(

Hi!

Bron - When you find that trick, please tell me! You have no idea how often I see something in a 4/4.25 that I would have loved to have been able to get but for size :-)

DiamondSeeker - that is good feedback. I can understand wanting a single band and will think about it. I liked the versatility of all 4 or choice in color to put in wedding set when I had just one set (I staged the purchase from the seller). This way, I could wear them:
  1. all four (but rarely)
  2. two of one color around a diamond eternity / wedding band alone or at times add one off color at the bottom just for fun, and have a choice in color depending on the day.
  3. two of one color, but one in index and other on ring
  4. one stacked between wedding band and engagement ring, particularly when it gets colder

Dee-Jay - completely understand! Aplogies for the delay in my response; I finally got a moment away from work to snap a couple shots for anyone interested.

I'll figure out which if any I'm going to offer, but if anyone is interested, my contact information is in my LT listings. Thanks so much!
