This diamond is not certified. It was part of a 3 stone ring from Blue Nile that got ripped apart and turned into a pendant. The setting is not perfect quality (the chain was simply soldered onto the basket and is a bit crooked) but it's platinum. I have the appraisal that came with the ring which says the stone is .53ct G/VS1. I did some research and a GIA stone of those specs would sell for about 1300. I was thinking of selling this whole piece for $800. Would an uncertified stone sell at this price?

Should I interpret the two likes on this post to mean $800 is a fair price for this piece? I'm thinking of posting on LoupeTroupe this week.

I’m no expert, but I think so.

It’s more or less a fair price. I paid a little over $700 for my .50 heart diamond from B2C and then yours is set in a chain, etc
