Happy Super Bowl Sunday PSers! I am considering selling a lovely pair of cuprian-bearing cabochon tourmalines from Mozambique. I bought them a long time ago from a PSer and intended to make earrings, but have not gotten around to it. One stone is 2.65cts and the other is 2.56cts, 8.96 x 7.62 x 4.65mm and 9 x 7.62 x 4.6mm, respectively. I have an AGL Prestige cert indicating "Paraiba-type" from Mozambique, with "faint, oil-type clarity enhancement, and low-temperature heating process." At this point, I would only consider selling to PSers.

I know these are unlikely to be anyone's HG stones, but they do have a glowy appearance and attractive color. The stones are by no means free of inclusions--you can see the bubbly light dispersion in the first picture, and one stone has a small black inclusion at the edge, which could easily covered by a prong. Because of the provenance, enhancements and inclusions, I am asking $575 per carat, or $3000 for the pair. I am springerspaniel on LT and will put a way to contact me there if anyone is interested.

Reducing these stones to $500 per carat, or $2600 total for 5.2 carats of glowy matched cab tourmalines.

Bumping! Reasonable offers considered.

Final reduction! $450 per carat, or $2340 total for 5.2 carats of beautiful stones with an AGL report. This is your chance to have a sizable pair of glowy green-blue cabochon copper-bearing tourmalines from Mozambique at a fraction of the Brazilian Paraiba price.

Otherwise, these lovelies will just sit in a box in a safe, as they have for several years now.

oh so glowy! someone please nab them before i sell a liver.

These really are just lovely  I wish this colour worked on me!!

They really are beautiful stones!
They are not Paraiba though, correct?

Due to having minor oil, have you found that they’ve changed any over the timeframe you’ve had them?

Hi @bright ice -- Thank you, yes, they are beautiful and have some size to them as well! I had planned on making a pair of earrings but have not gotten round to it in several years, so figure someone ought to get some pleasure out of them.

I really appreciate your asking a couple of questions. Regarding whether they are "Paraiba:" PS has a few threads regarding what can be called "Paraiba," which is why I have been so careful in how I list these. The AGL certified these stones as being copper-bearing from Mozambique, and indicate they can technically be called Paraiba. That being said, you are right, they are not Brazilian Paraiba tourmalines. This is reflected in the price, which I checked with several PS-vetted vendors prior to listing the stones.

I have not seen any changes in the intensity of color or inclusions over the several years that I have had them.

They would definitely make a gorgeous pair of earrings, certainly gives me ideas!

I keep coming back to this thread. These need to be worn and loved. They’re too beautiful to not be worn and loved...

These beauties are sold and on their way to their new owner today! I hope she likes them.

I’m happy for you and the buyer!
Believe me if I didn’t have another project going they’d already be mine.
