I need serious counseling. Valeria101 helped me with visually seeing that three two pronged bands is what I wanted to set my princess cut in. However when I went to my jeweler, he showed me a Du Nouveau filigree styled ring that I loved and previously requested that I see. The dilemma is that I did not want to exceed the length of my princess (7.6mm to be exact) because I think my main stone would get lost in all the diamonds surrounding it. So I originally had intended to get my stone on a 3mm two pronged band and have two 2mm bands on each side. The problem is that the 2mm bands are too small for me….I don’t see enough diamond. I’d have to go with 2 2.5 mm and one 3mm to get the look for me, but the problem is that I 1) exceed my 7.6mm and 2) I’m not sure if my Princess will get lost in the diamonds. I do like this concept because it has more versatility (I can were one band with my engagement ring, or two, wear one on one hand or have both on the right hand) and I like the fact that rounds do sparkle more than anything. BUT I do really like the filigree ring by Du Nouveau (anyone heard of them). The engagement ring has three rows (not eternity, but halfway around the band) of Baguettes in the middle and pave rounds on each side (there are also paves on the side of each side….I can view paves as I look at the side of my ring or on top). If I got this ring, since I have determined that I need two rings I would get a 2mm pave set band that will sit adjacent to the bottom of where the Du Nouveau begins (this would give it a 3d affect and allow me to still see the paves on the sides. The only problem is that I 1) have exceeded my 7.6 mm 2) think that the baguettes will look dirtier faster than the rounds as well as not sparkle as much and 3) I’m not sure I want to wear a 6mm ring all the time (less versatile). By the way, I am pretty active and I am looking for a classy look that will stand the test of time (being that I don’t want to keep looking for new settings every so often). See I Need Help! Opinions, suggestions, comments, concerns, yays, nays, please help me think this through….anyone….thanks in advance. I couldn’t attach any pictures, but I did find some pictures on this Robbins Brothers site that are very similar to what I am talking about

The ring down the first (upper) link already looks like a stack of three bands (the row of baguettes and the two pave borders look like that to me in the pic) - no wnader you liked it if you wanted the look in the first place!

Would it work to still get a sigle row of diamonds on the ring's shank and two bands next to it - just different shapes of diamonds? It could well be baguettes on the ring's band and rounds on the guards... I think.

This is what i was trying to say (the set "assembled" below the two FlussFit rings)...

You really are amazing to me...thanks for your response. Yes, I can get three separate rings and at one point I was considering doing this, but this ring has really great detailed scroll work underneath the ring that is beautiful. So I am going to go with this ring. Once I get it all set I will post a picture. Thanks soooooooo much for responding to me....you have been a GREAT help!

Thanks !
