I would go with the first diamond if he is ok with K color. Not a fan of that particular halo and the diamonds will be whiter than the center stone so she might not like that contrast. Just something to consider.

My vote goes to the 1st cushion, by far the best cut of the 3 which will make it face up larger and brighter than the others, and a lovely true square cushion shape.

I also much prefer the setting that @lovedogs suggested -- it is a graceful design and really the only one with a floral/botanical aesthetic -- the halo is beautifully shaped and will be blingy while also highlighting the center stone. The wedding band and/or one-year anniversary could be a thin pave band which will pair beautifully with the engagement ring.
