So your torn between saying "But we..." and yes. Just because you say yes doesn''t mean you have to get married (or even start planning a wedding) right away. Take your time, fulfill your goals and then get married. But don''t pass this up just because you''re annoyed he''s messing up your immediate plans for the next 2-3 years. Plenty of people have long engagements.

Thanks Hudson! I'm actually not annoyed. Just more in shock (mostly good shock!) that he's suddenly talking about it so much. And he isn't teasing me. He's completely serious.

I've been thinking about this so much lately that my head is about to explode! It's nice to get it out and hear what others have to say. It helps me to think someone tells me it's natural I feel this way. This way I don't feel so crazy!!!!

I have been patient, haven't I?

Man, with all my thoughts bouncing around...I'd sure love to call him FI though....

True. After all, he still needs A JOB!!! lol But maybe I can prepare myself more for it now so that when it does happen, I wont be completely blindsided. (I'm sure it will still be a total surprise because that's what he wants to do) I told him he talks about it like it's happening tomorrow. He didn't say anything to that! I know it wont without a job first.

Well, 11 years total if you count our first year LDR. Otherwise it would be 10 total being together in the same town.

LOL! I'm with you, there! Some days I'm calm, and just going with the flow, but others I'm freakin' out, and mentally nutso. FF says it should happen before the end of the year, but he said that last year, too, and I don't want to get my hopes up!

Yeah, I need to sit back and relax and not freak out so much that OMG it''s coming possibly by the end of 2010/early 2011 (because it''s possible that it wont happen by then) But how do I remain calm when I''m excited/nervous and can''t stop thinking about it now?????

Yeah, I posted a link to that thread where I wrote he told me "28 is the magic number" and then he tells me that again! At the time I wasn''t sure if he was just talking out of his a___ or if he was serious. Apparently he didn''t forget saying that either since he brought it up again. I was like

Yes, he found a job about 1 month ago and loves it. It was the first interview he got in TX, which is the state I was moving to. He had gotten about 9 interviews in CA and no real offers (one company offered him a really low starting salary that was almost an insult). He got the job a week before I was moving out, so we are now only 2 hours away from each other. So everything worked out. In a way, me moving to TX was lucky because it was (at least 2 months ago) the only state with a positive job market.

I hope your BF comes across some good luck.

Oh that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you!!! S has some stuff coming up....a few tests (for different positions) apparently this is what the government has you do before you can even get an interview. And then another possibility which isn't the goverment. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed! He's actually got one test downtown today. Hopefully he ends up in the top however many and can get an interview and then of course, the job!
