Finally finished the promise ring...

So here''s the promise ring, finally done (but shh, not giving it to her for another month). I went with an excellent cut .23 ct. D VS1 from Blue Nile and had a local B&M set it in a simple four prong 14K white gold ring. Very happy with it. Think it''ll be exactly what she''d have picked out herself. Had a lot of trouble taking pics of it. Firey little 1.4 TIC : )

Well macro helped, now I''ve learned what to look for in a diamond AND how to use my camera from this site. Then again, its still too blurry to see the stars like I can. I think I just have a jittery trigger finger.

Trying to keep this as far as possible from seeming anything like a proposal. It already looks enough like a small engagement ring. The plan is to give her her christmas present (which we''ll be exchanging one night at the end of November since she''s away at college) and wrap this as well. I''ll be leaving it (brightly wrapped in wrapping paper) in the safe for her to find on the way out of the hotel the next morning when I tell her to make sure we haven''t forgotten anything.
