Finally getting around to posting pic of my grandmother''s ruby ring

My main reason for finding pricescope was to look into a different setting for this ring. The stone is large though and my fingers are huge so I ended up deciding on a pendant instead sometime in the future. Then I found out my SO wants to get married and that opened up a whole new reason to be on pricescope

So here she is.......I played with this ring as a child and it holds fond memories of my grandmother who passed on in 2001. I know very little about it other than it''s over 4 carats and synthetic, bought in Germany.

I think it will make a lovely ring. And if as you say, you have large fingers I am sure you will be able carry it off.

If the stone is so large and you have large fingers why did you decide to turn it into a pendant??

It seems like it would make a lovely RHR for you.

I don''t want to draw attention to my hands since I have such large fingers (size 10 ring finger). The wedding band I''m getting is going to be close to 6 mm so I think this will be all the ring I need. I''d rather have a pendant that I can wear once in a while and not worry about wearing a RHR I''d be scared to lose.

Katomn, who cares if you have large fingers? Thats just an excuse to need bigger stones! I wear size 9.5, and there's nothing I can do about it. My dad's side of the family has bigger fingers. When I was younger I hated my hands and refused to wear rings. Now I don't worry about it, they're only fingers after all. I think it'd look lovely on you as a ring or pendant.

I vote for leaving it as is. If you remember your grandmother wearing it as a ring I''d think it would be more of a reminder of her if you kept it as a ring. Who cares about ring size? I say if you got a beautiful ring like that flaunt it.
