finally, got something from Tan that I like

It is a cheap pink spinel. The best thing is that it matches my pair of spinels that I got from him.

In real life, they totally match, both are light-pink and quite bright. I think I overpaid for the pair but since they match...

Bottom line, they would look nice in a set but I do not want to spend too much on it. Anyone you could recommend on etsy? I do not want to spend too much $$ on it but I want the set to be nice. I looked at Silversmith on Etsy. Patrick Irla seems to be inexpensive but my stones would not fit into his regular earrings/pendant and anything custom made is more expensive. Any ideas?

But please note: the color in pictures looks different, while IRL they are of the same color. The cuts are very nice.

And I am really sorry for not posting my pictures, but my new laptop's screen is not working. So I don't even want to meddle with external monitor - just plan to copy all photos and buy a new one. I also owe photographs of Uli's stones.

Check out "Daniel M." Freke has made me a big fan; he makes some beautiful pieces for really reasonable prices. Also, if you're just looking for simple bezels, "Kyle Anne Metals" does some excellent tube bezel work. I think I've sent something like 6-7 stones to her.

Hi crasru! It's great to hear that u got something u like You are lucky to find a match, I had bought a pair of pear sapphire that I had recently set into earring. I am expecting a single pear to arrive. Hopefully they can match well like ur spinelsIts a pretty pink, not too wash out like some. sorry I have not use any etsy artisan before But I am sure the other gals will chime in soon!

I’m sorry I don’t have a recommendation for an Etsy vendor as I’m still looking for the right one but I popped in to comment on the spinels. I think the colour and cutting are well matched to make a set. They don’t have to be perfectly matched because they aren’t next to each other like in a 3 stone ring. When there is a slight distance, the eye is usually more forgiving. All 3 should be brilliant and lively, and I look forward to seeing how you set them.

Welcome back! You’ve been gone a while. Tan runs several reputable eBay stores like Odysseygems, VVS1 and Gemburilone, but like all other vendors, he carries some well priced ones and some overpriced ones, meaning some are down right duds and some are actually quite pretty looking.
