My sugarloaf amethyst from Swala finally has a home!

The attached picture is the set of inspiration pictures I gave to Pete at Quest Jewelers in Fairfax, VA to pull the setting design from. The top is the primary inspiration: the sugarloaf amethyst ring I fell in love with at the Tiny Jewel Box in DC at the January DC GTG. I used this obviously for the stone, the tapered shank, and the rose gold. The bottom picture is one of Megeve''s sugarloaves that she received earlier this year, which I gave them to show the claw prongs and rounded shank.

crasru, the benchmen at Quest Jewelers in Fairfax, VA created the setting and set the stone.

And I must say, working with Eric was a joy, especially since this stone was a special request and he picked the perfect rough for it!

But this one sure comes close!!!

It''s the perfect mix of dainty and substantial and the prong work is just perfect!

We''ll have to get together for coffee again...we''ll make a date after I get that other really important piece!
