Hello all :)

I have never been an advocate of going into debt for the wedding but I''m looking for a credit card (or something like that) where I can put a balance on and then pay it off in about one year. A 0% APR would be great or a super low one would do as well.

I know some of you helped your FI finance your incredible diamond rings

so I am hoping for some suggestions :)

Thanks!!

My FI actually had to finance my ring for a whole month.

With his income taxes + savings, he would''ve had more than enough to buy it, but his tax returns took too long to come back and the first diamond I wanted was sold in less than a week. So, he panicked and financed it. From experience, I can tell you not to go with MBNA, usually their interest rate is crazy high.

Blue from AmEx and Chase Platinum probably have the best deals with 0% for 15 months and Discover Platinum has 0% for 12 months with some nice cash back bonuses.

right now i have two CC with 0% from Chase for 15 months.

I totally know where you are coming from snow, I got a credit card from Chase and it''s 0% APR until May 2007 and I got it in March. The monthly payment is 2% of whatever the balance is which isn''t too bad. Everything wedding related has gone on that card!

There is a website that you can go to to view all new account offers from credit cards to compare. I will see if I can find it. I usually get to it with a simple google search.

Also, if you have an existing balance that you want to transfer, you can call your existing cards and ask them for deals. Oftentimes, they will compete. It makes sense that if you also tell them that you are getting ready to begin paying for a wedding and rather than open a new account elsewhere that you would prefer a competitive rate from them, they may offer you that.

ALL RIGHT! I used MSN money to compare the different credit card offers and applied for Blue from American Express (0% APR for 15 months). It was totally easy and the customer service lady was awesome - she even got my credit limit increased so we can put our photog and my dress on the credit card -- and earn points we can use for our honeymoon! Woohoo!

Thanks everyone!
