Greetings everyone.

First of all, thanks to all who gave input on my threads last year. I'm now happy to present the finished ring!

The stone:
1.46 carat Spessartite Garnet from Finewater Gems
This is one of the acclaimed spessartite garnets from the 2007 find in Loliondo, Tanzania. A very bright orange color with a slight yellow secondary hue - it looks like a hot little ember! People will notice this one from across the room. Extremely clean for this material, excellent crystal, and cut into a classic Portuguese round shape.

1.46 carats, 6.5 x 6.5 x 4.6mm, VS clarity

Wow that is a cool looking stone, I like it :appl:

I like the stone and the setting is perfect for it. A nice, clean spess in a Portuguese cut must be quite the performer.

Very much so - it shines and glows in almost all lighting. Looks very nice outside too, but I haven't had a chance to go out and take photos there yet.

The 14k gold sets it off nicely - glad I didn't go palladium or platinum!

Aren't those Loliondo's lovely? I love wearing the ring I have and the color just makes me smile. Yours is going to be a great performer, as well. Love the solitaire setting. Enjoy, and thanks for the pictures. :appl:

I love it!

Yowza that's some orange now! It's just gorgeous!

It looks like it's on fire! Thanks for the photos.

Lovely ring.

Is your setting white or yellow gold? Glad you snagged a nice looking Loliondo as clean ones are now more difficult to find.

Congrats, very pretty stone!

It is very pretty!

nicely done!

ps thank you for keeping the setting simple and yet unique to let the spess be the star of the show.

I did not say a word about it yesterday. I think I am jealous.

*creeps out of the lurker cupboard again*

It's 14k yellow gold. I've been trying to get a good picture of the stone in it's yellow phase - didn't really succeed, but I'll attach the best I got. More pictures are always good, right?

I get the wedding ring to go with it next week - more pictures will come of them together. Exciting!

Absolutely! More pictures are always welcome. The reason I asked about the metal colour is because I could not tell in your earlier pictures.

Some of those pictures do rather look like they're in rose gold, don't they. I'd never noticed that before...

Yummy a carat-size solitaire :lickout:
