Last thread on the subject was in 2008.https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/dream-proposal.80824/ But what are some dream proposals now? I know many of the ladies here would want something sweet and thought out, but I know I'm not the only one that hopes he'll do a particular thing. We've heard your nightmares, but what about your day dreams? :wink2:

Unlike a surprising majority of ladies here, I wouldn't mind a public proposal. Bf's a musician, so a silly dream I have is that after a show, he'd take the mic and ask me then and there. I've ex-nayed the idea since the rest of the band are in relationships too and it might cause some irk-age with the other girls, but hey, a dream's a dream!

Anyone else?

My dream proposal is anything sweet and thought out that has some special meaning to us. It doesn't have to be elaborate just "us". I don't have anything specific planned out.

Honestly, I try not to think about it too much. I'm one of those people who over-analyzes things so if I daydream too much about the perfect proposal I'll find something wrong with it and it won't be perfect to me. Very sad but very true.

I haven't re-entered the list but I have two dream scenarios. One would be on the gulf coast of FL, at this little dock we always go to that is right on the gulf, and dolphins always swim by. It has a lot of significance to locals, as it is a very visited spot and has been rebuilt over and over after hurricanes.

The other would be in St. Augustine, at night, at the wall along the water's edge.

Either would make me really happy.

When I started thinking about this, I was shocked when I realized that I haven't really thought about a dream proposal (which is crazy considering how much I think about getting engaged ), but I think I don't want to build up a crazy expectation in my head that he doesn't even really know about so he can't meet it and then I'm disappointed. But I do know I really want to be surprised. I think that a proposal is one of life's best surprises if it's done right. I don't mean the fact that we're getting engaged will be a surprise, but the fact that he's proposing that very moment in that very spot will hopefully be a surprise. And I really hope it's thoughtful.

Totally with you girls! I don't want to have expectations, because I feel like (worst-case scenario), I'm setting myself up to be disappointed! Plus, my guy gets uncomfortable with "feelings" type of talk and will tend to spin it into something witty or funny. So I'm not even sure he could pull off something romantic and sweet with a straight face!

My friend got proposed to in a helicopter ride. I know, so cheesy and done by other people, but I'd probably swoon and I give her fiance planning points! :appl:

I am in the same boat. My BF isn't the type of guy who has heartfelt, emotional talks (do these guys exist? ), so I'm pretty curious right now as to how he'll pull off a proposal without getting emotional. He surprises me now and then (i.e., once a year on my birthday) with a really heartfelt display, though, so I know he has it in him. I can only hope for the best!

Any proposal with thought and effort is my dream proposal. Seriously, I daydream about it all the time and all the proposals are completely different. For example, a proposal in a hot air balloon ride, in a restaurant, where we fist kissed and had many dates, at home just the two of us, in front of our families, at a basketball game, etc. But in every single one of them, I am just as happy.

So, really there isn't one specific way that I would prefer BF to propose. (Though in a hot air balloon would be amazing! I've dreamed of riding in one all my life! Plus, I would see it coming from a mile away)
