First post - looking for advise on this emerald cut. Not sure if happy.

Hi all,
I think I dove into the rabbit hole a bit to late - after I’d pulled the trigger on this 1.21 h vs1 emerald cut. I still have time to return it, luckily. But I wanted second opinions to make sure I’m not just seeing things/ making stuff up.

Can you please take a look at the album of photos and let me know if it seems like a good emerald cut? I tried to do the best I could with the budget we had but I’m just not sure if I’m expecting to much with the patterning (ie: should all the facets be lighting up at once?)

Just any and all opinions appreciated.

In several of the pictures, the diamond just looks like it isn't clean. Diamonds have to have certain kinds of lighting to actually sparkle. I don't think we can really judge the cut from these pictures.

I agree with @diamondseeker2006 about the pictures. IMHO, if you don't really love it, return it. Your perfect diamond is out there. Don't settle.

I also agree with @diamondseeker2006, though in some of the later images it does look like it *could* be a little dead in the center. Do you still have the vendor video? Also, had you seen emerald cuts in person? They definitely have a different kind of sparkle than other brilliant cuts.

inconclusive based on available data. is my opinion
It looks to have nice patterns without any glaring dead spots face up static but there is no evidence that it dances when moved
Video has bad lighting and the camera is way to close

I’d seen emerald in person but I guess the ones I’d seen just performed better? I was fond of the patterning on the video for this one, just disappointed by the display of faceting when moving.

How it looks when moving is a huge part of what makes a well cut emerald cut awesome.
If this one does not dance and make your heart sing then I recommend looking into a return.

Agree with the others...it seems to be a bit static, although high in brilliance depending on the lighting. Maybe shop around a bit in order to compare since you have the capability to perform side by side comparisons.
