I have to vent and rant, yet again, about the weight thing. I have the dress of my dreams- which I have not yet posted b/c I don''t know if fiance would bother to look at pricescope, since I''ve mentioned the forum. However, if you know a bridal designer that starts w/ C and designer number that is 1970, you might have some idea of what it looks like.

At any rate, I am two inches too thick in the waist for the waist measurement listed in their size chart. Pretty sure the hip measure doesn''t matter since in that area, I fit a dress 2 sizes smaller. Obviously, I am freaking out about this, more so as my wedding is LESS than 60 days away and the dress CANNOT be let out.

Oh, yeah, and did I mention that I am doing the Jillian Shred videos EVERY DAY (see shred thread)! AND, journaling my calories! WTF! I''m 31, did something happen to my metabolism when I turned 31 that now I can''t lose weight?

My friends are like, "I wouldn''t worry about it, you''ll get so nervous, you''ll stop eating." Ok, I get nervous, and I get hyperphagia. I think my body is rejecting me.

Should I be freaking out about the two inches or can this be corrected by a corset or what? I want to lose 10 lbs, I don''t think this is unrealistic with a wedding 8 weeks away! Anybody have any thoughts?

and now I'm in a similar boat. I was told that they can let mine out, however, it might not be able to be let out enough in which case they would have to turn it into a corset back---which would take away from the dress I think

. I'm working out, eating about 1300-1400 calories and I feel like nothing is happening

.

I am wishing you the best of luck. I think once we are over 25 it gets harder to lose the weight. But if you stick to it you should be able to lose what you need to.

ETA: I just saw how much you want to lose, I think for me 10lbs is about 6weeks if I work really hard, I think you have plenty of time!

Vent away!

I think a corset could probably take an inch off...or so. Have you tried the dress on with a corset?

How many calories are you taking in a day? I''ve never done the 30DS, it scares me lol...but have heard it takes a week or two like any diet/exercise regiment to kick in. You may not even lose weight right away, it is supposed to help you drop inches too! Have you taken your measurements since you started?

Sorry for the double post!

To let you know if losing 10 pounds in 8 weeks is possible, I''d have to know how tall you are and how much you weigh right now. I lost 10 pounds in two months, but I definitely had the weight to lose (I''m 5''7 and was 160, down to 150 - size 8 dress that was taken in just a touch). If you''re already quite thin, it will be much harder to lose it, and corsets won''t suck in things like hips and ribs lol!

I'm 5'9" and I need to lose a good 30lbs. So, IMHO, 10 isn't unreasonable. The painful thing is I eat pretty healthfully. And, I've pretty much always worked out 3 days a week. I've stepped it up to 5 days now. I'm a street size 12/14. (14 on the bottom- which doesn't matter in the dress.) Good for me is 8 up top, 10/12 on the bottom. I'm not being unreasonable.

I just want 2 inches off the waist. And, the boobs... They are big, I'm not thrilled, FI is. I have a big ribcage, though. Why, oh why do I have to have the boobs? You can have a big ribcage and little boobs or vice versa, both are unfair.

At any rate, 10 lbs is not too much to ask!

Okay, in that case, I''ll echo what some PP''s said - do you know how many calories you are taking in each day? 500 less eaten (or more burned via exercise) a day amounts to one pound a week of loss...

Between 1200-1400 calories. I''m stupifying, aren''t I?

You can definitely do it!
What are you eating? I know you said pretty healthfully so probably you are already doing most everything right but if you switch to an almost vegetarian diet and eat lots of veggies, fruit, salad, beans and keep it under 1700 calories a day (for short term only ofc after the wedding get those calories up a bit) and work out everyday that should do the trick. For workouts I recommend combining aerobics (running, cycling, dancing) with weight training as muscle burns calories faster than fat.

Hang in there and don't panic. It is doable. Also when we are stressed out our bodies can hang onto fat so try and relax and do yoga, meditate, anything that calms you.

Good luck! I am sure you will be a beautiful bride!!

To the contrary... I think you're not eating enough, in my opinion. If you're working out five days a week, you're probably burning at least somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 calories working out, plus you're only eating 1200-1400 calories a day. That means your net is somewhere around 900-1100 or so. 1000 calories or less in a day is technically considered anorexia in the medical community, which means your body is starving itself and holding on to every single calorie it takes in instead of burning it. Since you have 8 weeks to go, just for fun for the next week or two I would try upping it to 1500-1700 calories, but make them healthy calories, like veggies, fruits, and lean proteins. I wonder if that would work to give you a jump start. I have a athletic nutrition background, just in case you wonder who this crazy lady talking to you is lol.

Shouldn''t they re-order it if it came in too small?

I would try a corset and some nanna knickers that could possibly trim just enough

I have these awesome yet slightly scary nanna knickers from K-MART they are shorts so they really suck you in and don''t make you pop - those might be an option

Have you tried the dress on yet? I wouldn''t panic until you''ve done this. My dress was ordered two inches smaller in the waist and it fit just fine. What happened was that my dress ended up holding everything in quite nicely. Now, it is a little tight on the ribcage but that just means that it''s a bit of a challenge to zip it up.

If you can''t get into it, you will have to buy a heavy duty corsette. Not the flimsy kind you find a Fredrick''s, but the real deal. You''ll have to start wearing it around the house right away in order to get used to it. Those things can work magic on the waist line. Your ribs are what they are though.

Your dress should have the ability to be let out about one inch on the ribs if all else fails.

Who chose the dress size? If the bridal consultant was the one who made the decision, maybe she knew the dresses run a little bigger than the measurements on the chart?

HIRE A PERSONAL TRAINER!

It will be well worth it. They know how to get results for specific areas. The thing about the Shred or a general workout is that they are designed for more general weight loss and toning. A personal trainer will help you focus your workouts so that ever single thing you are doing targets the area you want to focus on and will design your workouts so you are only doing things that help you with your goal. At my gym, there are even trainers who specialize in specific areas (and I have done my time with Ms. Thigh Downsize, and get perfectly wonderful results--at least until the ice cream shop at the end of my block opens up for Spring. . .).

The thing about corsets and Spanx and all that is that they just displace weight and actually add the inches of the fabric. If you can find one that moves everything down, it might work. But, usually they move everything up and down, so you will zip but then run the risk of quad-boob or back-muffin.

Mayerling--It was hand made, so not really ordered per se. However, the dressmaker is going to fix it I am just going to lose what I can and send it back to her and she will let it out or whatever is needed. Part of the problem is that I am losing weight and she kind of thought she would make it smaller to pre-empt any further weigh loss. Which, sounds good in theory, I guess. Anyways, I have already lost 1/3 of what I need to in the last 2 weeks. So I am thinking by end of the month April I should be good to. I might get a corset too but haven''t decided. But the dressmaker has been really great and she is going to fix it, put in a bussel, sew in cups if I want and hem it for me for free so I''m not too worried.
